Test, Of a life time

Slowly Diablo leaed the mare to his paridice. The sun was setting, and the waer cast a golden red. Perfect timing. I slowly turned. "This is it" I said, and looked over at the mare who was testing me. Wow, this is weird. I, the king, and beign tested! Old dog, new tricks! "Like it?" I inquired, my tail slapign my sides as I nuzzled the mare affectionalty, like I would to any herd member.

^{I curled my lips back, "Watch it stud. I never said you could touch me yet." My gaze followed out, looking across the lands? These things? Okaay.. I suppose this would work. I snorted, not even thinking so as to touch the soft grasses which grew underneath my feet. My ribs were pushing through my soiled hide easily, clear and could be counted. I sighed, letting my chest rise and fall. I smiled slightly, letting the rays of the sun catch my coat, and if it had been sheen, glitter like gold. A certain light was lit in my eyes now, a light which said new hope had been born.}

Hearing her words, I backed off. I knew I had her, once I saw her eyes light up like they did. I sat and grazed, occasionlly looking at the sunset, then back to her. Of the mare would be the finest on the lands if she stayed. All others would get jealous, but treated no differant because of looks.

Smiling, I stoped grasing, and looked out for my one horse herd.

^{I smiled, relieved that he respected me. Or, at least was posing. I shook my head, looking hungrily at the grass, but not touching it. It would be strange for me to eat without permission.. as, he was letting the devil stay with him, near him. He didn`t know if I was going to kill him during the night or not.}

I did respect that mare. She was....exciting. She said she would calm when in a herd, or respected, but how much? Was she even going to keep her word? Slowly I backed off, and looked around. Content with my days finding, I was ready to go to sleep.

But, I could not just leave her to get attacked. I would have to wait untill she fell asleep to drift into a dream of my own. Slow to move, I kept watch, and orb on her at all times to see when she was sleeping.....When I did sleep, my sleep would be a light one.

<sup>I snorted, turning my head gently to gaze at the stallion. He seemed suspicious, though I wasn`t going to jump to conclusions. I dropped my head, seemingly closing my eyes softly. "You may sleep you know, I am not tired and probally won`t for awhile. I can watch out for myself."

The sun was beginning to set over the horizon, gentle rays of vibrant colors lit the sky, peering over the lands with a bright smile. I sighed deeply, loving the feel of this place, though not sure this was where I belonged.</sup>

I watched her that night, befor falling alseep. Wow, I hope she stays. Throwing my skull I woke that morning, a bird on my back. Snorting at it, I made it fly off.

"How was you night, Ma`am?" I asked. I had to cal me Ma`am, for I nevere got her name.

[Kandy]

^{I snorted, "Of course, even though I slept none, I shall be good for today, thank you. As, there are only two more days in your trial." I paused, still not feeling hungry, though eyeing the grass with a longing look. I sighed, brushing it against my lips, then moving away slightly. I was not to eat until I could know that he wouldn`t try anything while I ate.}

"Are you not hungry?" I asked. I was ogin to add a small amount of sarcazm to my next sentance, but decided agaist it." Grass is plentiful, as you can see." I said. I was goin gto nuzzled, but she might blow again, so I decided not to, and slowly moved away.

My pillars moved slower than ever, not wanting to move from the mares side. Oh, how I loved this mare.

[Sith]

The mare trotted upon the lands, looking around. Halting, she gently nipped her coat, itching herself. Turning around, Xena paused. She debated whether or not to enter first or call out her presence. It was an easy answer; after all, one shouldn't be rude, should they?

Tossing her head, she now pushed her black hued forelock aside and out of her visage lining. Weight was soon thrust back to her haunches as she lifted her body up. Parting her jaws, Xena let out a shrill, high-pitched call, announcing her arrival. Of course, she was humble about it. After all, she wasn't the prettiest mare and had no high ranking standard.

Coming back to earth on all fours, she looked about through deep hazel eyes. Snorting, she soon went along. She was a mess; her blue coat was splattered with mud while housing other unknown debris, and her mane and tail. Both were knotted and tangled, matted together, housing unknown items along with a medium sized stick in her tail. Ah well, having her freedom was good enough, and the five-year old mare was proud to show she was truly free.

[Kandy]

^{I sighed, "No, I am nots hungry," I lied, "please.. eat.. do not stop just because of me." Then.. then I heard the hellion scream. I jerked my head upward, my eyes becoming red embers. She sounded fimilar, a faint sound of my past. My breath became faster, more labored.. heavier. I froze in place, my mane now whipping past my face in the sea wind. My nostrils were filled with her scent..}

[Sith]

<sup>Stopping, she looked about. Something was very familiar about this place, well, not about the place, but perhaps a certain equine upon it. Shrugging slightly, Xena continued on at a nice trot. No reply. Odd.

She went along, her tangled mane and tail following behind her. Halting, she saw two equines nearby. Tossing her head, she removed her forelock aside and slowed down to a very slow trot. She looked at the mare, and forgot her manners to show to the lead. Lowering her head some, her gaze was not fixed on him, but her.

Tilting her head, she tried to recall the mare's name from her memory, but no avail. She was very familiar, however.</sup>

[Kat]

Seeing the two just stand there, in silence, and look at each other, Diablo butted in. "You do not have to eat if you dont want to." He said, to the mare whom wasa testing him.

Turning to the new mare, a look of suspocion crissed his featured."May I ask why you are on my lands, and of your dubbing?" He asked, and looked sternly at the mare. She seemed to have her sites set on his mare.

[Sith]

<sup>The mare pinned back her ears, seeing his rudeness. Even if she was a light, she wasn't going to take this from a stallion.
"Well, you're nice, now aren't you?" she replied. Tossing her head, she looked around. She didn't have to take this from this, this stallion. And who did he think he was talking to? the mare tossed her head.

"I have just come upon these lands, looking for a home. I see now, I'm not going to be welcomed here, am I?"

Xena turned around, debating whether to just leave this dump of a land or stay with the stallion and mare who seemed familiar, but she could not recall her name or anything.</sup>

[Kat]

"I wasn't trying to be rude, Ma`am. I am Diablo. You may stay on these lands, if you wish, for as long as yu like. I am sorry if my tone seemed as if it were ment to sound harsh." He said. He spoke his words cafrfully, and chose them just as well. He though of his land, the rolling hills leading to the frothily waved shores were a pleasure to have, and he was sure glad to have gotten them befor taken.

Looking at the mare, the two seemed to know each other. "Night is soon. Please, do atleast stay untill morning." He asking the new mare. "May I know your name?" He asked. Tomorrow was the last day of the test.
