Just thought I'd remind everyone that The Circus will be playing on TCM tonight (Wed. 10/14) at 10:45PM EST. Tonight's guest programmer is Matt Groening and I'm looking forward to hearing what he has to say about the movie. It'll be nice to see the movie again, too, I haven't watched it in a long time.

I didn't see this until today, but I did remember to watch, after having to track down TCM as it moved about 100 channels up on my cable lineup. I didn't realize that was Matt Groening at first. He had a decent amount of Chaplin knowledge.

I'm glad he chose The Circus. It does seem to be a fan favorite. They also talked about Chaplin a little more in depth than Robert Osbourne usually does when introducing a Chaplin film.

OOOH! Did anyone record Matt's intro? Could they put it on YouTube??

As both at Chaplin and a Simpsons fan, this is something that I cannot miss! What other films did he choose for the evening?

I taped the intro. and follow-up, but can't put them on YouTube. If no one else does, I'll just post the info. here (the other movies, by the way, were a Laurel and Hardy, prior to The Circus, and afterwards, I Was a Fugitive From a Chain Gang, He ran All the Way Home, and The Desperate Hours (maybe there was one before the L&H movie - I don't know).
