This is a recent post on one of the Amazon/CreateSpace boards. It's funny but it's also sad... so many people fall for this kind of thing now.

Yeah, I have noticed that it is quite an uphill battle. For example, I advertised my book with a Facebook ad for about 3 months. When I set the parameters, it said that I would reach about 9,000,000 people. In 3 months, the ad was embedded into about 500,000 profiles. Out of that, almost 300 people actually clicked on the ad. Out of that number, 0 people bought a book. So, if you do the math, I'd probably have to set the parameters to reach 6,000,000,000 so that eventually 1 person will buy it.
Although, I have heard that it is selling copies in some of the stores I've sold it to. So, I guess I'll have better sales if I get this book of mine into every store. However, my travel budget is waaaaaaaay too low for that.

Gosh, imagine that. The best way to sell a book is in a book store. What a concept.
want likker? go to a bar.
want a lawyer? go to a bar.
an oyster? hmmm.
sand?
titties?
what makes you SO sure the best place to find a book is at a bookstore? i think your logic is flawed, Captain.
i'm really amazed at how far internet advertising has gone. all it does is piss people off, and yet the advertisers still rake in the cash. i really don't like firefox, but i might have to make it my primary until there is an adblocker for IE.
