Occupation: Cult Member Magic Type Shade? Magic Ranking Talented
Physical Description:
Human:
Hugh's human form is nothing out of the ordinary, he's fairly tall (5'11'') and is quite slender. In fact, the only thing abnormal about his human form is the lack of a pinky finger on his right hand. His hair is jet black, one or two lone grey's showing up already. His face he keeps well-shaved, showing off his well-defined jaw line. His eyes are dark brown and framed by black eyebrows. For clothing Hugh dresses relatively plain but still manages to look good without throwing lots of money around.
He has a number of scars on his body from not treating his body quite as well as he should do, it being nothing more than a vessel for his soul. One of these scars is a good deal larger than the others, very clearly a bullet wound that was messily extracted and stitched up by an amateur. The scarring from this stitching runs in a thick line just under his left nipple and the surrounding area is considerably darker than the rest of his skin.
For the most part he gives off a rather friendly vibe when in his human form, he just looks like a kind individual and the idea of anyone finding him intimidating is fairly laughable.
Wolven:
Hugh's Wolven form is quite different from his human one. Where his human form is nothing out of the ordinary his Wolven is so different that most people wouldn't even expect that it were the same person. In this form he is a rather large vicious looking wolf with a thick black coat. His Wolven form is something that developed quite a bit more in the muscular department than his human due to his early years. His tail has also been cut off, the stump of it not visible beneath his mess of fur.
Long well-kept canines and dark angry eyes are what people faced with Hugh's Wolven form usually notice first. If they're not too busy quivering at being faced with a massive wolf that is.
Mental Description:
Hugh has changed quite a bit from what he was in his youth; in years gone by he was known as one of the more vicious wolves in the pack he chose to live with. For a while it was rumoured that he was more than strong enough to be the leader of this pack. Hugh himself had no real aspirations to lead, preferring to act in more of a thuggish role for the pack.
Nowadays he is a gentle more caring man, his pack persona something that he has left behind him. Once being introduced to the Religion of Kalish and later on the Cult Hugh gave up his wolven form, leaving it behind as a reminder of who he used to be and how sinful the life he led was. The drugs he has taken in his time as a member of the religion have more or less fully eradicated the violent feelings Hugh had from day to day in his youth. These feelings are something that only resurfaces when in his wolven form, another reason for his avoidance of it.
To others (both those not of the religion and those of it) Hugh is more than friendly, always the first to offer another a helping hand if they seem to be in trouble. He often travels to speak of the religion and promote it in other areas but has taken to visiting the monastery in Aska more and more in recent years, seeing it as one of the more prominent buildings of his faith.
His faith is Hugh's main love in life, something that has never let him down since the day he discovered it. He revels in the idea of some day being united with the Divine. He is grateful to the faith and it's leaders for delivering him from the life of sin he had been leading and helping him be more at peace with himself and the world.
He has swore himself off most material things, usually giving over any profit he makes to the cult or those he deems more needy of it. Meat is one thing he can't stand at all (in his human form at least) and he thinks the eating of it is more suited to the life of savagery he used to have.
History:
Hugh's early memories are all soaked in blood and filled with more violence than some people see in a lifetime. He was born into one of the more violent Wolven packs in Peter and spent his early days fighting among the other children and even some of the adults in his group. His pack was a rather nasty bunch with more than a few members who were known criminals in some of the bigger towns and cities in Peter. For the most part his youth was spent learning how to kill and steal and filled with dreams of some day being rich and lording it up over those he thought less of (basically anyone who wasn't Wolven).
This training continued for most of his childhood until he came to maturity and secured a position as one of the more dominant males within the pack. When the leaders wanted something done, be it simple theft or murdering those who had angered the group's leaders Hugh was often picked for the job due to both his size and ferociousness.
In this part of his life he spent almost all of his time as a wolf, thinking his human form an embodiment of all the weakness present in his person. In fact, most of his pack had barely even seen his human form in his time with them.
This lifestyle of gluttony and violence went on for many years until one day when sent into a city with some other members of his pack Hugh ended up getting shot in a heist gone wrong, his pack mates abandoning him and leaving him for dead. Badly wounded and close to being captured by the officials Hugh done something that would change his life forever. Taking his human form he dragged himself to the nearest monastery, intending to take advantage of some poor priest or another and heal up before continuing his violent life. Unluckily for him (or rather, who he had been) Hugh bumped into a member of the religion of Kalish.
The man took him in, treating him with more care than Hugh had ever expected of the man. At first he thought that perhaps the human was looking to exploit him or rob him and leave him for dead. That was what humans were like after all, or so he'd been taught in his pack. They were greedy lesser creatures, not to be trusted. Yet Hugh eventually found himself respecting the man more and more, a feeling of calm descending over him as the man cared for him. Something that was more down to the drugs the practitioner of Kalish had been slipping Hugh in his medicine to lessen the pain of the wounds more than the Wolven murderer having a change of heart. A combination of the gap of not being in his Wolven form (effectively removing his more savage urges), the drugs opening his mind up and dulling the more savage aspects of his human personality and being preached to by his saviour left Hugh a changed man...wolf...thing. So much was Hugh changed that when he was finally healed (something that took a while, a nasty infection setting in soon after being stitched back up) Hugh offered to travel with the man for a bit, to repay the debt he owed him. No word had passed between the two of how Hugh had come by such a wound and neither of them bothered to mention it so the man had no idea of Hugh's Wolven heritage. For almost a year he travelled with him, learning of Kalish and how he could bring himself a greater sense of worth before leaving the man to join the religion himself.
Nowadays Hugh is not only a member of the religion but has become part of the Cult as well, the severing of his pinkie finger was something he done for the religion. For the Cult he shared the secret of his Wolven heritage with a few select members and gave to them his tail, an event he marks as the definite end of the life he had led. Recently he has been getting closer to a girl he met whilst on errands for the Cult, someone he has been developing feelings for despite the views some people in the Cult have on such things. He looks forward to the day when he can invite her to join with him so that together they make seek to unite themselves with the Divine.
