Looking around and finding everything when you expect nothing... That's what Emerald did. This place... This truly dark and desolate place was perfect. ... Except it had other wolves... However, Emerald knew very well that it was time to return to society and life in general, for she was starving and had a difficult time hunting for herself.

Onward she walked, feeling the symbolic weight of the jewel on her forehead every step. And every step... every step... every moment of every step she felt the guilt and mark of a ... what would be the correct word to describe her?

Vague shadows of a horrible time entered her mind. She could still place herself under the paw of the Alpha, feel his hot, smelly breath on her face as he yelled and beat her. Emerald still felt the blood of her former love on her claws... Dripping down and mixing with his mate's blood...

Even now, she could still feel the guilt, the hatred, and the absolutly overwhelming desire to turn back time and stop herself before it was too late, even if she didn't know how...

'Looking to the past will not help me...' Emerald thought to herself, sighing heavily and plopping herself under a tree. 'But then what am I to do now? There is nothing left for me... Only this accursed jewel on my head!'

Overwhelming anger and despair which had been accumulating for months welled up inside her and exploded in an anguished scream. Her scream was intelligible to anyone but her. She screamed the name of her love, his mate, their families and everyone she turned her back on by taking away the life of the Alpha's son and the son's mate.

Silence was defening to her ears, so she continued walking, listening intently to the noise her paws made against the unforgiving ground. Even now, the blood of the male she once loved followed her, still mixing with his true love and mate's blood she also spilled with absolutely no remorse.

Testingly, Emerald sniffed the nearest tree. Yep, someone else lived here. The main question was did they know of what the emerald gem on her head meant? If they did, they would surely attack her and refuse to give her any shelter, for they would never want to invoke the wrath of the Stone Pack's wrath if they found they were holding a ... a ... An Ugly. Yes, Ugly was the perfect word to describe Emerald.

Her name was taken from her, and now the name the blood-soaked ground gave her was Emerald, the Ugly.

Emerald paused and sighed...

out of character.
Yo. Welcome to Black Storm & AWW. Sorry you had to wait a couple days.

in character

A second hand murderer, that's what Kara was. From the moment she found herself staring at her sister's grave, the dark Alphess knew she was the one that put her there. The devious act she had done with her own sibling's mate broke Luxia's heart and drove her to leap from that mountain. Those accursed mountains. Urukara would no longer go near them, they had lured the pale femme of Misted Dreams, promised her that the pain would go away if she would only give up her life. And so it had, all that was left was guilt for both Blitz and the winged wolfess that now spent all her time patrolling the usually empty borders of Black Storm.
This day they weren't as desolate, however. Pungent scent of someone unfamiliar swirled up the beast's flared nostrils, causing her to spread enormous glittery blue pinions and take flight. Stormy cerulean eyes scanned the landscape below until they saw their target. With the prowess of one who was well experienced at soaring through the sky, Urukara dipped swiftly vertical and came to a near perfect landing in front of the strange female with only a soft thump against the frozen earth.
Immediately, she took notice of the gem on the newcomer's forehand, then refrained from looking at the glowing sapphire that hung around her own neck. An immortal. Were her first thoughts, but they were quickly dismissed. The stone was actually embedded in the wolf's head, not fastened onto the trademark necklace, nor did this lupine possess the beautiful wings the 8 did. Thoughts following were mostly curious, wanting to know this individual's story. Kara liked to know all her pack members' pasts, though she was yet to find out some of them.
Finally, after silently scrutinizing the other wolf, she spoke in her soft, yet deep voice.
"What business have you with us?"

Emerald was quickly taken aback by the sudden appearance by the strange wolf. The wolf had wings, for crying out loud! Emerald backed up slightly, only to bump into a tree. She was cornered.

"... I am guessing, by the way you carry your manner and speech, you are an Alpha Fae. Emerald said, carefully looking over the she-wolf. Not wanting to get off on the wrong paw, Emerald bowed in front of the female. "My business here is peaceful. I search for a pack to live in, and a dry place to sleep. I've been wandering for about three months, and I'm truly anxious to sleep without having to worry of predators around me.

"My pack was disbanded because it was simply too small to sustain itself, and there was strife within. My family was small and disappeared without notice. I suspect because of my loyalty to the Alpha, whom they hated and swore their allegiance to the Beta. Because the disbandonment was sudden, the other members were naturally confused and we quickly become separated. I don't desire to find any of my former pack, I wish to put that behind me. All of it."

The story was so well rehearsed, perhaps a bit too well. However, Emerald did not care about such details. She was too tired to care for anything else at the moment, except for her misery.

shit. Sorry this took so long; it won't happen again. This post sucks. :] And don't mind Teeko, he's been like this for a while since he's been dead. He's just a jerk in general. but that's why i love him so.

It had been a tiresome day, flying from each corner of his beloved territory. The lands were just like they always were; everything was so static here. Teeko loved it all the same though. It was his. He owned it, he loved it, and that was it. Sometimes he hated it as much as he hated being a ghost, but it was like family. Teeko finally arrived at the scene he had been looking for, the one with his love and a stranger. Urukara's scent had been a trail for him and he just felt like saying hello. But just as the wraith's feet had touched down, the lady was talking. And she was saying that Kara was an alpha? Well, no shit sherlock. He snorted. “and I am guessing, by the way you you carry your manner and speech, you must be an idiot,” it was mean, but he really didn't care. Of course Kara was one, and he hated those types of people who stated the obvious.

He remained quiet during her and Kara's interaction, being the spectator. “you have quite the sob story. Seems a bit...rehearsed, at least to me. And if you want a place, what can you offer us? What're your skills?” he looked her over, then probably asked the worst thing possible in a situation like this: “why the hell do you have an emerald in your head? ...are you an immortal?” he was suddenly very, very curious.

Emerald shook her head. "I am not an Immortal, sir. As for the emerald, it was a symbol of my pack. I was daughter of the Beta, this was to symbolize my rank."

Once again, rehearsed. Emerald did not care, she only wanted a place to stay and sleep. The crime she had commited had stolen away all of her emotions, leaving only a strange, somewhat mechanical process of living.

"As for what I can offer, I do not know. I do not know your land, nor your pack. I only know that what I did back with my last pack was lead hunts. Every six days, we'd go out and take enough food to last us the six days. Nothing more, nothing less. I was in command of those hunts, and we hunted every six days, no matter the weather or time or current going-ons."

Raising her head up to look into Teeko's she added, "I will give you no opinions. Only facts."
