Every pack consists of an ordered rank system, also known as hierarchy in the wolf world. They contain a higher council and lower common community. Every pack needs a hierarchy to keep things in order and prevent fighting. Below is each rank and what their descriptions are. On the left in parenthesis of some is the number of wolves which are allowed to fill that particuliar rank. The number may not be more than the number given, but it can be less. The list goes from highest to lowest. Please read them all very carefully. Keep in mind, this is all an IC description of the ranks. (Administrators and Moderators have OOC jobs which are listed in the Council Meeting Room, but only certain groups may enter this board)

high class

(2) Alphas (administrators) - Alphas are the highest and most powerful wolves in a pack. They are responsible to keep the pack intact and organized. They issue hunts and decide which pack members will eat first. They also must patrol their borders and lead events. They biggest job is to keep the pack united. They have superior power over the entire pack. There is only one alpha male, and one alpha female per pack. All lower ranks must obey all commands given from an Alpha. (this rank requires daily activity)

(4) Betas (moderators) - The Betas are second in command of a pack. These wolves are apprentices aswell as highly trusted friends of an Alpha. They are responsible to carry out the Alpha's commands or wishes. They also must help with hunts and organize watchout parties. If anything happens to the alpha male or female, a Beta wolf of the same gender shall take his or her place. (this rank requires a high level of activity)

(4) Deltas - These wolves are third in command. Their purpose is as a helper and guide. They help familiarize wolves with their pack lands. Keep in mind, this rank is not for running errands, but for answering questions. Deltas are required to know pack names, mates, ranges, pups, hierarchy, history, meeting places, ect. This is an extremely hard job and requires alot of time, but it is a very cool rank and is surprisingly popular.

middle class

Subordinates - This is the most common rank in a pack. They do not have very important jobs, only ones all wolves follow. They are required to attend pack meetings, help with hunts, and defend the pack when necessary. They are sometimes asked to baby sit pups, aswell. (this rank requires weekly activity)

lower class

Scouts- A scout is the position all new pack members start out with. It is not exactly an official rank, however. The higher class wolves will test and monitor Scouts, and if they seem to be loyal packmates, they will be moved up to being a Subordinate. They have the same basic job as Subordinates. (this rank requires weekly activity)

Omegas - If a wolf has done something very bad or been disrespectful, they are put on this rank level. A wolf only gets this rank by bad behaviour, but chances of a promotion are slim.

no class (other)

Pups and Elders - These wolves have no jobs except to stay around the pack and keep out watch. Pups only have the jobs to look cute and annoy adults. Elders, well....are old.
