some doctors recommend their patients to keep a day-to-day diary. and some patients just bring their diaries with them from home.

what becomes of the b r o k e n h e a r t e d;;
welcome to clarksville detention center. by now, you've already passed through the tall, iron gates that will eventually end up keeping you locked in here. as you step out of your parents' car, you'll be guided by two hefty men, they go by the names of jack and keith, and will be led into the main lobby of the center. you pass through double doors of the finest mahogany and enter a room with white walls. it is extremely plain and mundane, with landscape photographs of the staff throughout the years and a tired, old secretary by the name of karen sitting at a small desk. you might choose to sit in an overstuffed chair or couch and just read a few of the magazines as you slowly begin the first day of the rest of your life.

as soon as you've been registered, you might just find yourself in one of these. a doctor's office. clarksville offers a (mostly) qualified staff full of (usually) hard-working doctors and (most of the time) helpful nurses. the doctor might go over your diagnosis/sentence with you and just might tell you what your cell number is. most offices are square in shape, with a desk and a chair. the doctors are allowed to go crazy with their decorations.

ah, dining hall a. where all the little delinquents come to dine. if one can call being served something you don't know the ingredients of and being forced to sit with people you don't know dining. the room is large enough to hold all 1000 delinquents, though the number of tables probably isn't near as enough.

called dining hall b and exclusively for the staff. unlike the patient's dining hall, there are no guards and the staff are actually allowed to go off campus to get their food. the room isn't as large as dining hall a, but it's big enough to house the staff.

nixon library, named after the last name of the founder's favorite niece, not the fascist pig. it's a quaint, quiet little place with shelves and shelves of books from a to z, fiction to non-fiction. there are comfortable chairs littered in random places, the colors having nothing to do with the current color scheme, white and maroon. people come here to be alone, even when they're usually alone in the first place. some of them actually come here to socialize, though they have to keep it quiet unless they want to face the wrath of the wrinkled librarian.

monday, m o n d a y;;
there's only one day where the parents, relatives, and friends are allowed to visit the teenagers. and that's monday. when monday comes around, most delinquents are extremely giddy. if you receive news of a visitor, you'll be led to a nice-sized room, painted white as most of the rooms are. there's a large row of cubicles dividing the room in half. there's a window and a chair on each side of the cubicle, as well as a phone through which visitors and delinquents converse.

at clarksville, the security is top notch. well, most of the time, anyway. if a delinquent is caught goofing off or just breaking rules, he'll be sent to a small room without any light. his roommate will sleep alone for a few nights as he sits in the cell and waits until he can come out. meals are served through a crack under the door and time is virtually impossible to track. it's up to the guards to remember when to let the patient out and, frankly, they aren't too reliable.

juvenile delinquents are people, too. meaning, they can get bored. so clarksville has decided to give them their own little room to cure that boredness. don't think they're getting soft, though. teens are only allowed in rotations and can only watch television for an hour. along with the t.v, there's a pool table, a pinball machine, some chairs, a couch, and a jukebox. and, of course, some guards.

the sounds of s i l e n c e;;
the basement. it's said to be haunted. of course, who wouldn't think that? the place has an eerie feeling about it. there's only one light, a single lightbulb. most of the medical equipment is stored down here, but only the bravest of orderlies dare to venture down the steps. the risky teens often dare each other to go down, since there's a rumor involving marijuana and a secret apssageway out.

all teenagers are required to go to school. even thieves and murderers. though they probably won't be in the same room. there is a long, narrow hallway lined with different classrooms. each one as dank and grimy as the next. at clarksville, education isn't exactly the top priority.

these are the gates you pass on your way in. they're obviously tall, with barbed wire on top. there's also the clarksville center emblem on it. it's pretty plain to see that the gates have been designed to keep people inside.

nobody knows how old this herbal garden is. nobody knows all of the herbs found here, either. there are some basic things like tea leaves and aloe. but, be careful. it isn't taken care of on a regular basis, so it isn't strange to find poison ivy hanging around.

the lucia apple orchard, named after the nurse who started it. it is maintained by the more passionate delinquents and is actually pretty well taken care of. the apples are always juicy and rarely host worms.

yes, clarksville's grounds are large enough to fit an apple orchard and a cornfield. the corn is also maintained by the kids as well as the small wheatfield located next to it. there is a vegetable garden just around the corner.

moon lake. so named because the moon sparkles brilliantly across the surface at night time, moon lake is the perfect place to relax on a sunny afternoon. also quite a romantic spot at night. though that sort of thing is discouraged...

haunted h o u s e s;;
a landmark from when the Institution used to be an orphanage. the swings are dilapidated and sagging and the sand box is full of bugs. yet, to some delinquents, this spot has a sort of comforting air to it. it is said that the lost souls of murdered children remain here, and play at night.

these woods are completely engulfed in darkness, day and night. the trees are amazingly tall and block all the sun. because of this, not a lot of plants other than those huge trees grow. of course, there's tons of moss. a barbed wire fence surrounds this area, fencing it just inside the institution grounds. it isn't wise to venture in alone. especially at night.
