because we intend to keep you here for a while. now, this is your
first stop, kiddo. the rules, the plot and all those basic, uber-important

okay, okay, enough of all that 'you're stuck here now' stuff-even though
you really are. this is another one of those must-read forums, because
we'll be posting all sorts of important announcements here. updates,
activity checks, events and so on and so forth. got it? good.

aha! so you've got a question now, do you? perfect. because you're
in the right place. in here you'll find an faq, and various threads that
help with the housekeeping of this site. so, if you're stuck with anything,
this forum is your best bet.

so now that you've gotten your head around the place-i hope-you can
start on what you're here for, right? i mean your character. yeah. that's
the one. in here you'll find all the necessary documentation for that. and
then you can post your application! just be sure to post it in the right
forum. its not rocket science, or anything.

you've been accepted? huzzah! -throws confetti- well done you. you'll
find your character's application has been placed in this fantabulous
forum. if you ever want to check any details on any accepted character,

those fancy color-coded, lyrical plot pages? so 2008. no, in 2009
everybody is lazy, so we just make (pretty) threads explaining a little
bit about our characters and then we pimp them out to everyone and
their mothers. futuristic, right? thought so. and we do it here, in this
forum. along with asking for new characters, and tracking threads.
you know, its all one big party.

most roleplaying these days is done the lazy way,
through instant messaging and cellphones. we all know it.
so here's probably the busiest forum of the lot! knock
yourselves out, kids.

brokenjawblogs is your own designated little corner of
the world, if you want it. its a great place for characters to
vent, to talk about their lives and is completely and totally
ic. sign up for one, and get blogging.

just like a cbox for your characters, really. there's usually
something going down here, so try to check in now and then.

affectionately known as 'one police plaza',
the nypd's head office is located at park row, across the
street from city hall, in the heart of manhattan's financial
district. this is where a whole bunch of administrative
work goes down, and there's a bunch of cells for
detaining high-profile criminals.

the legal side of law and order is a whirlwind of court
hearings, settlement negotiations and media coverage. in
new york, some of the world's top attorneys are hired to
represent the top of the criminal food chain, and the district
attorney's office works hard to outwit them. their battleground?
the city's courts, which are presided over by stern judges.

tv stations, newspapers, radio and all the other forms of
media are always on the lookout for a juicy crime to report.
poking around police headquarters, interrogating 'reliable' sources
is all part of the job description when you work in the press.

this is where the big men of the italian mob hang.
most italian territory is in queens, particularly howard
beach, but there are pockets of land reigned by the
tulli family throughout the city. if you've got anything
against the mob, i suggest you stay well away. they
have eyes everywhere; trust me.

basically, this is where all sorts of criminal activity goes down. drug dealing, black market trade-offs, whatever. the scum of new york flock to the dark, damp backstreets, where redly lit bars, strip clubs and strangers lurk. not a nice place to be, if you ask me.

like the italians, the russians have their own space in nyc that they call their own. mainly based in the bronx, their influence stretches all over the city, and they're not exactly people to be taken lightly, understand?

located in brooklyn, it almost overlaps
the italians in the east, but the irish had been living
here far longer than the italians have. brooklyn has
become their den of activity. controlled by the extremely
democratic leaders, protection is best here if you're
not a member of the irish mafia.

new york has plenty of things to go see or do. like spending a day in central park, or going to see a broadway show. there's lots of museums to visit, plenty of parks, markets to visit and plenty of sights to go see. all that kind of stuff goes on here. for the more cultural of you people, who like that kind of stuff. new york is perfect for it!

apparently we need to eat to live? yeah i didn't know that one either! anyway, new york has plenty of places to eat, get fat or if your a model pretend to eat. new york's full of cheap diners, expensive restaurants, cute little coffee shops or deli's whatever you feel like, new york will probably be able to offer it better than anywhere else.

shopping? oh shopping. don't you just love to shop. whether its for clothes, shoes, stuff for your apartment, groceries its a nice way to relax ease the system and spend a load of money. new york is one of the fashion capitals of the world, so they have top designers for you to nosy at. there's plenty of shops all over new york and are all located within this board. so go crazy and max out that credit card.

who doesn't love going out and getting completely drunk and stumbling home? new york has great nightlife. there's so many clubs, chic bars and places to drink and have a good time. they say its the city that never sleeps and if you decided to go out at night, all night you'd understand how true that statement is. its a great city for all its nightlife.

from the hotels of new york, to the transport system, to hospitals to the police station to the city jail. other important places around new york are all located here. new york has plenty of hotels to stay in if your wife kicks you out, of if you want a luxury weekend away with your partner. hell some people even live in the hotels here in new york!

without a doubt there's going to be somewhere we haven't mentioned or made a board for. we've tried to be as wide as possible so that this doesn't happen. but more often than not there's going to be a place in new york, or even beyond new york where you might need to thread. whether its the hamptons or hong kong! all those threads can be roleplayed out here!

from penthouses to town houses to any other kind of housing you can think of it's welcomed here. only the richest can live in actual houses in new york as city living doesn't come cheap! these are mostly occupied by the mafia big wigs, rich celebrities, businessmen or people well off in the NYPD.

some of us aren't rich and have to reside in apartments or condos. these aren't great, but not the worst. new york is a vibrant city with lots of places to live and apartment blocks are the most popular. the majority will live in apartments as the rent can be considerably affordable.

perhaps you can't afford an apartment, perhaps your homeless and live in an abandoned building, or perhaps you live in a bedsit or a hostel. or perhaps you don't live in any and you live in a hotel. either way, any type of living accommodation that doesn't fit under houses or apartments can be placed in here.

its pretty much an unwritten rule that everyone should have some graphics. if you can't make them, however, don't fear! the graphics request forum is here!
