alright this might be a bit inspired by the fact that i just watched Dawn of the Dead, but i think when you are dealing with Undead who's conditions are passed by bite or other fluids. And Whos numbers rage in the hundreds or thousands, that Full plate body armour is a MUST!!!! I'm not talking about Knights of the Round Table here folks. I am talking about using common sense and using whatever means possible to cover up your body from being physically bitten, scratched or touched.

I said this on the ABS thread nothing Less than Profesional Racing leather will do. It's extremely thick leather with metal plates all over. in the case you fall off your motorcycle, it will keep your flesh from being torn away by the concrete and friction. now in a zombied Infested situation this would help Greatly only if you didn't give then anything to grab onto! Nothing to pull it off, no bit of hanging clothing to tear. Everything sealed SHUT!!! If you can handle the weight , some modified weapons could help if added to this leather, Blades on the fore arm or maybe something blunt and long like a metal baseball bat. Now we can all use our imagniations to add whatever would be most beneficial to us.

Just remember that Prevention is the greatest weapon, I don't think zombies can use zippers, and a good sharp knife in the case that you get snagged on something!

Sounds good. Preferably I would use the chemical suits that the soldiers were forced to wear when they went over to Iraq. Those would definatly keep who from coming into contact with bodily fluids. Then just add some armor such as what MP's sometimes use and viola! you're ready to go. Or just take a hazmat suit w. gasmask and add some samurai type armor. Thats good stuff.

Only problem is noise. If you are trying to go unnoticed, which is sometimes a good idea, then metal is bad. Clink-etty clink. Other than that, I suppose armor is a good idea.

I would go with leather drench coat, leather pants, leather shirt, and some leather gloves with spikes on the knuckles.

Yeah I like the sound of a leather trench coat with leather gloves. That would look pretty cool too. Good all around protection in style. Maybe you should be a fashion designer, eh Paladin?

Thats not a bad idea. Maybe I could make up the standard amount of armor, ammo, and the weapons according to the level of outbreak. I'm all ready getting ideas...

I think armor type and variation depends on the individual. You cant expect your 115 pound mom or girlfriend to schlep motocross armor 25 miles away from an outbreak with gear. I think clothing layerd upon layer would be the best defence. Its lighter than plastic or metal plates, and can be used to keep you warm. Of coarse, heat comes into factor here. If an outbreak happens in the middle of the summer, You have to find something that covers your arms and legs and breathes. (Good luck...)

You guys will probably laugh at me for suggesting this, but what about using cardboard for a makeshift emergency armor to prevent a bite. If you were ill prepaired and the outbreak was small enough, it could be a 1 time bite only thing, and it might stop teeth from going all the way through and preventing an open wound, thus preventing infection.

Well, the afore mentioned divers don't have the problem of the weight, such is the nature of water. It would work, but it means no stealth (clinkety clink), and not much running (metal is quite heavy in general).

Yeah, kevlar pwns. One of those biker jackets made of kevlar would be nice. I'll try and find a link to one incase you think I'm thinking of something that doesn't exist (it has been known to happen).

Here we are:
One piece kevlar suit
Kevlar jacket
QUOTE
Stronger than leather and less than half the weight

One catch though: the suit is 1000 dollars!

 You'd need a pretty high skill in tailoring to do that.

Edit: Uh oh, that's a sign of too much WoW.
