Flame - Hey, Wolven Warers and those who are just joining us, just some quick notes as we are building ourselves up to the point of functionality so we can be completely free of the old board and move on in the new plots. Note to people with avatars or who are looking for avatars, please check the topic Accounts in Rules for a point of referrence on that. After you post in the leaving topic at Wolven War Vs.6 - Recovery, or post a leaving topic for your character, note that this pertains only to older members, update your profile to explain how you got here and audition the profile unless you speak to me via PM on the old board to discuss the situation of moving the character.

This feels oddly peaceful.." Thus were the thoughts of a four year old wolf. One would think that she had grown up around fighting and attacking and dying to think that... but the truth was, it was more her inner mind that was in chaos and turmoil. Sort of. But being here... freed her mind.

It also let loose the memory of her first meeting with Shadow and Velvet, something she would have prefered to have forgotten. Somehow she couldn't quite manage to put it into perspective that she had siblings, nor that they were in different packs. Why was that anyway? Was there a reason to it? Or just to keep them from meeting for fear they'd go crazy. Not that Silk wasn't anyway.

Sighing, she felt like flopping down on the ground, and so she did. She couldn't take this! Silk Gingous, normally having a clear and sharp mind, now felt utterly and truely befuddled. Her half closed eyes looked down at the ground, staring at the thin layer of snow on the ground. The cold air then decided it to be fun and make Silk even more annoyed by blowing freezing and hard at her. Shivering in her black coat, attempting to push the matter away from her mind, she howled out, "Why in the world am I here?!?!?"

"I really don't know," giggled a small voice from the shadow of one of the ancient oak trees. The almost black form where the voice orginated hid there, virtually unseen. The light from the noon-day sun caught her eyes and allowed eerie blue glints to be seen by all in the vicinity.

Stepping out from the shadows, the young Alphess smiled and bowed her head quickly in a sign of acknowledgement. "No," she began, "Truely, I know not why you are here, but for your company, I am grateful." The also blackish wolf before her was Silk Gingous, the Lead Youth Watchess in Rizurii's pack. This wolfess was not just her subordinate, but her friend.

Sitting down beside Silk, small paws leaving equally small tracks in the snow where they had made contact, Rizurii grinned slightly and inquired to how Silk was doing. The Alphess had not seen many wolves, let alone her packmates, of late.

The cold was not as much of a bother to Rizurii Seibrem as it was to other wolves... Her mother liked it hot, but it seems that part of her genetic make-up had been flipped over to not care, yet, not to the point of preferring cold. The snow, to the yearling Alphess, was a toy, a plaything, something to be enjoyed, not scorned.

Silk whirled around at the voice, and would have growled had she not realized who it was that she would be growling at for surprising her. Her mouth curled up in a non-lethal snarl, a smile if wolves could call it that. Relaxing much at the sight of the black alpha female, she replied to the inquiry of how she was doing with a noncommittal shrug, again, if wolves could that would be what it was, and, “Alright, I suppose.”

Looking at Rizurii carefully, avoiding directly into her eyes as to not cause an annoying scuffle, could they do that here, she asked, “Where are the other pack members? Or other wolves for that matter. I have seen naught hide nor hair of anyone save you.” She bit back the addition of her brother or sister. She was reluctant to admit they existed.

After a very slight pause, she carefully decided she might as well mention that she had seen them, but not mention that they were siblings. After all, she wasn’t one who would purposely lie. “I have seen two wolves, sort of recently. A male, Shadow, of Shadowed Wrath. Alpha, I believe? As well as a female, her name was Velvet and lived in the Hold-outs. Since they are no longer in existence, I would assume that she is now in Misted Skies.”

Plopping down to lie in the snow, the Alphess looked starkly different than her environment. She opened her jaws and allowed her pink tongue to flop out. It was a good time to relax since she had nothing to do of late.

"I haven't seen anyone but you either... There is supposed to be a new litter in the pack this spring, so we're growing." Rizurii Seibrem sighed and laid her head on her now snow covered paws in thought. "Yes," she said at last, "Shadow Gingous is the Alpha of Shadowed Wrath and I believe all of the Hold-Outs were integrated into Misted Skies while the Rebels went to Dying Tears." She was just stating knowledge that she had gained through the grapevine of wanderers and the history passed down from the more experianced packmembers.

Snow began to fall in large flake groups, about the size of a human child's palm. It was fluffy and it's size let Rizurii know that it was getting warmer. The size of flakes correlated with the temperature. The fact that it was cold still, told her that the meat the pack had buried would keep for awhile, hopefully long enough to feed them through to March.

The land was cold; winter had now arrived. The fluffy snow fell from the clear azulean skies, landing on the ground which was already carpeted with snow. The leaves on the decidous trees were gone; only the leafy needles of the evergreens remained. SOngbirds still sung throughout the air, giving a lighthearted feeling to a somewhat bitter atmosphere.

The snow was no worry to Kelai, though she was pregnant -- the grey-coloured female padded through the snow. The pregnancy only took a minor toll on her running -- she was already in good shape. But through the coming weeks, Kelai had begun to rest more.

She soon saw Rizurii with Silkin the Peaceful Oaks. Her tail wagged as she loped towards them. It had been lonely here in the last few seasons; there were few wolves left in the pack. Her friend Flyer had disapeared -- perhaps dead? Kelai shook the thought out of her head. She lay down by Silk and Rizurii.

Silk nodded, that sounded right as to what happened. She was just glad she didn't have to admit to having siblings. Closing her eyes briefly, when she opened them again, she noticed Kelai now laying down with them. Well techinically Silk was sitting, since when she had decided to lay down, she had to get up to whirl around to look at Rizurii, but what was that little detail in all others.

Grinning at Kelai, Silk decided that although she nearly wanted to shout out a greeting for her friend, she had a feeling that there might be a reason why Kelai hadn't already talked. Or not, who knew?

Some Hearts

The silence of the scene might have been unsettling to some, but to Rizurii Seibrem, it was just fine. With a yawn, she stretched out on the snow and let her tail lay in the snow rather than wrapped around her out-stretched back paws. The ground was cold but her thick, dark fur and insulated paw pads prevented the cold from affecting her too much.

Looking up at her companions, she wondered what would become of Deadly Glare and the other packs if the wolves kept disappearing. Her crystal blue eyes were a stark contrast to the rest of her, but they were one of the few gifts she recieved from her father's side.

He, her father, had been known for those eyes, along with an ear tag and metal shaft for a makeshift leg. Humans did that for him long ago, so perhaps humans weren't as evil as other wolves make out. Then again, Rizurii though about little River, who was barely older than herself but still thought of as 'little', who had been abused and tortured by human captors. Ryden testified to this and so did River's behavior of slight insanity, and yet great intelligance. It led Rizurii to the conclusion, Maybe humans vary as individuals, like the wolves do.

Life was slowly coming to a stall, it seemed, in the valley of Elpita.
