Carefully scenting the air, Janai stopped at the waterfall. Taking a drink from the pool at its base, she sighed and lay down. The last weeks of winter had been hard on her. She had been doing alright, even after her alpha had gone missing, hunting in the unclaimed lands, then she had injured her left foreleg. Licking the slowly healing wound, she sighed again. Because of it she hadn't been able to hunt and had had to make a living off scavenging. It grated that she had been reduced to that. Under her still winter-thick pelt, her body was very skinny. In desperation, she had made her way to her sister's lands to see if she could get Chenoa's help. She hadn't met up with her sister so far, but she had been able to catch a young rabbit and her wound had healed enough that she could move more freely. If she wanted to, she could stay out of they way of the wolves who roamed these lands until she was healed enough to go back the unclaimed lands she had been hunting. But her short time as part of Leon's pack had given her a taste of what it was to be amoung other wolves again and she didn't want to continue to hunt alone. She would stay in the open and wait for someone to stumble across her. If that didn't work, she seek her sister out and request to join her pack. Janai doubted Chenoa would refuse. They were family, after all.
