Professor Aristais walked into the classroom and surveyed her new class. "Welcome everyone to your very first Ancient Runes class." she told them smiling. "I am sure I will learn all of your names in time but please be patient while I bungle through them today."

Professor Aristais took attendance causing only a few grimaces as she messed up names and then began the lesson.

"Today we will be talking about Runes. Big shock isn't it?" She paused for a laugh. "Ok now there are 24 runes, seperated into 3 groups called Ęttir, plural for Ętt. Today you will learn the names of each Rune and the Ętt they belong to. I trust you have each bought a set of Runes as required by this course."

The class rummages around in thier bags and each pulls out a bag with a set of Runes in it.

"Good! Please take them out and spread them out in front of you."

Clattering is heard as students pour thier runes out onto their desks, there are a wide variety, traditional wooden circles, gemstones, and ceramic Runes. Everyone starts chattering about thier sets.

"Ok everyone turn your attention to the board." Professor Aristais waves her wand and a diagram appears showing the Rune, name, and letter sound. "I want you to seperate your runes into the three Ęttir."
