It was the first day that the snow had been deep enough to actually play in. Along with that little fun fact, it was also one of the coldest days of the new season. While several students – mainly the older ones – preferred to take refuge inside the castle by a sizzling warm fire, Leona found she much preferred the snowy wonderland outside. The seventh year was no fool though and made sure she hadn’t left her dorm until she was positive that she would be warm enough to play outside for a good few hours. Layered up in two long sleeved shirts, a thin jacket and large overcoat, the badger was sure she was more than protected from the chilling cold. A long golden and black scarf was wrapped around her neck, and appeared to be like some sort of tail the way it trailed behind her as she ran around the courtyard laughing her head off like an over joyous toddler.

She had good reason to be that happy though; her current friendships seemed to be moving along at a steady pace, one that seemed sufficient enough for the badger’s needs. More importantly, her friendship with Sterling seemed to be moving along swimmingly, occasionally hitting minor bumps, but more or less moving forward to a more serious friendship – one that Leona enjoyed quite a bit. In all her life, the perky Spanish girl hadn’t ever been able to obtain a ‘best friends’ status. This was in part due to her own restrictions; never allowing herself to be around anyone for too long lest they find out about her wavering emotions. Year after year, the brunette met new people, got to know as much as she could from them, then disappeared from their lives, avoiding them at all costs. This year was turning out to be no different; she had met many wonderful people that she would soon say farewell to. Everyone she met was subject to this - everyone except for Sterling, that is. He was turning out to be a very important friend to her; one that she was growing very fond of each day.

Naturally, she was out looking for him as she always did. Unable to find him, she went back to her initial plans for the day and rolled around in the fresh snow that layer the ground, giggling to herself at how funny the crunching noise the snow made beneath her sounded. Leona didn’t always require the company of someone to have fun, especially during winter. The seventh year could amuse herself just fine on her with all the fun games that the snowy season brought. Admittedly, things were a bit more interesting with other people around, so it didn’t take long for the badger to become bored playing alone. What she needed was someone to play with; someone fun and up for doing anything her little heart desired. That person would definitely not be a first year though. When she first came out, the brunette had approached a group of the most adorable little first years and asked to join in on their snow ball fight, but the little punks had not only laughed in her face but pelted her with little solid balls of ice and rushed her away from them. The little “lesson” they had taught her made her sure to stay away from the younger students, seeing as how the little darlings apparently turned into little vicious beasts when it snowed. Instead, she casually skipped around, searching for someone closer to her own age to chat with and possibly make a snowman with. Her wish was granted as she stumbled upon a familiar face; one belonging to a guy who had to be about as old as her. Leona couldn’t remember his name, but she was certain she had seen him on several occasions in the library. Not seeing anyone else nearby, the Hufflepuff skipped her way up to the boy with a wide smile on her face. “Hi! I know you! Kinda… Wanna make a snowman together?"
