[behind] blue eyes, Chris and Valentina

The girl looked smoky, almost eerily in her form. Her frame was hunched over a book, that her eyes turned left to right quickly. She turned a page, and started the pattern again. Her dainty fingers were drawing patterns on the desk. Her skin was pale, but they were brushed with a light pink. Her eyes froze looking at one word for a few seconds, before moving again. The blue eyes skimmed the page before she aclosed the book gently, and tucked some fawn colored hair behind her ear. Her lips were tight in a concentrating position, before she reached over for the next book. She idly pushed the former one away and opened the fresh one, starting again. Many people knew Valentina was an odd girl indeed.
The Italian teenager let out a deep breath, and rubbed her blue eyes. She was a little sick of reading, especially this being her seventh book in the last hour. Still, she preferred fiction over non-fiction, and leisure time over studying. But you need balance. You won't know what to do in your spare time and waste it, or your mind will shut down and you'll get detention again. Your choice, Ricci. Valentina closed her eyes and fought an inward battle, before reading once again. Valentina drummed her fingers lightly over her jeans, before pulling down her sleeves so they were over her hands. She had a tendency to do that. He was a very shy, timid and nervous girl. But only a few people knew how to properly get under her skin.
They knew Valentina's easy tease spots, like her brothers or her being a nervous wreck. She sometimes wished she was left to herself, but that would never happen here. Everyone needed to know everyone's business. Valentina wasn't just timid, but very secretive. She would hide like a child, and only reveal what she'd want you to see. Still, the irony was sweet if many people that didn't know her, wanted to talk in a conversation with her. Alas, the conversations were always one-sided.

"Well, well," The boy's deep voice pierced the silence she had apparently hoped to hide with in. Shutting the book he had been mindlessly thumbing through from his spot at the end of the bookcase nearest her chair, Christopher tossed it back onto the sill of the shelf only to see a cloud of dust began to separate and dance in the air as he began to step away. Grinning toward the fair lioness, the snake was delighted to have a bit more fun than serious play, which is the only thing he had run into lately. The fun of teasing someone who was just so weak and fragile delighted him for silent reasons, reasons of which he could only keep to himself. The sick monster locked with in him, deep with in his soul and deep below any humanity he had left, still fought with him sometimes; he still wanted to come out and play just as any other form of being would. Clearing his throat as his footsteps brought him nearer to her position at the table, Christopher took a moment to observe her more closely now. The monster with in him raged; noticing that she was rather attractive did nothing but rile its feathers and muscles. Rattling its cage was what most females did best, even with out the intention. Nevertheless, no matter how many rumors he had heard of her nervousness and shy personality, Christopher was determined to bother the little Gryffindor. "What do we have here? A lone little lioness, attempting to hide in a book?"
Suavely, he moved to pull a chair to just beside of her and slink down into it, resting one of his harms over its back, making it a point to be facing her. The young man's mouth glowed with a mischievous yet charming grin as its corners slowly danced up his cheeks, crawling closer to his ears. "Now what does such a pretty little cat such as yourself have to be hiding from, hm?" The urge to pester her was an urge he had often found himself overtaken by, but it most certainly was not limited to just her. With his free hand, he allowed his fingers to dance upon the table to an imaginary beat as he gazed into her eyes. He tried to find just anything to say to her, for he could not help to seize the moment of opportunity. Even though he had heard she was more than just fragile, that she was already broken, he seemed to want nothing more but to break her even further for he was a broken figure himself and disliked being upon the floor alone. "Why do you look so pale and sad, hm?" Granted the centaurs over-taking the school and the blizzard keeping the students inside might have had something to do with most others feeling rather down, but he could not help but pick at the true reason this stranger- this female. Preventing himself from touching her just yet, he chuckled very slightly and remained in his chair just aside of her. "You know, there are better things you could be hiding with in...."

The added presence made the lioness shake with fear. She always wondered why people loved to torment and tease and break the fragile girl even more, making her vulnerable. Still, the brunette shuddered een more as he made his appearance even more bold. She sat on her hands and tucked her feet under her chair, hoping to prevent any kind of physical contact with him. She wouldn't admit she was scared. Shy, timid, nervous, stubborn was just another word to describe the little Italian. "..." She opened her mouth, hoping for words to flow, but they didn't. She froze, her heart pounding. Don't give him the satisfaction! Valentina choked.
The brunette blushed when the oppressor called her pretty, but she didn't believe him. She shook her head, in a shy manner, before turning away from him. She was hiding from him. Valentina squeezed her eyes shut and almost wished for him to take interest in somebody else. Anybody else, just not her. Valentina took a shaky breath, before trying to block him out with her book. She put the hardback on her lap and her fingers followed the lines of words that were printed on the thin pages. She turned a page, and cast a small look o him. Valentina shuddered. He hadn't moved.
Still, Valentina kept whatever pride she had left and ignored him, using her experience form bullies to block out the taunts from her mind. You can't ignore him forever you know. He wants something. Valentina blushed deeper before opening her mouth. "I-I-is there-e anything I-I can-n-n-n help y-y-ou wi-ith?" She spoke just above a whisper. She prayed to her deity. 'Help.'
