-We came, we saw, We kicked it's ASS-
Name:Ophelia Eelanor Age: 20 Canon or Original: Original Status: Living Position: Civilian- Medium & secretary- fortune teller Characters You Play: Joshua Stantz
-Whatever you do, Don't cross the streams!-
Weight:5'2 Height:100 lbs Eye Color:Brown Hair Color:brown Clothing: Vastly uninterested in the current and must-have fashions of the city, she makes due with what is affordable and wearable while maintaining a soft, neatly feminine appearance with a love for airy colors and skirts. She hates the restraint and itchiness of uniforms, suits, and otherwise professional wear, but as everyone- does as she must to make due.
Anything Else: (If you want to further describe your character, do so here)
-It's the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man...- Personality: Pleasant and enduring, Ophelia's disposition is, for lack of better terminology, A ray of light in a dark time. Somewhat naive, she relies heavily on the talents that were passed to her from her mother and grandmother, often blinding herself to the accuracy of it all.She refuses to hover too frequently over the negative that has seemed to swoop down onto the world like carrion birds readying for a slaughter- Instead, she keeps to her pleasant disposition, offering help to the various individuals she meets whenever it is needed. Social and outgoing, she is active in whatever situation she gets involved in. Her survival instincts are strangely exceptional, making up for her lack of physical strength.
There is, however, a sort of oddity about her- while she is pleasant and hopeful and charismatic to be around, there are times where she diminishes into an almost maddened state- demonstrating both Obsessive compulsive behavior in small matters and a disillusioned attachment with saving people (especially, it has been noted, adolescents.)
A notoriously hard worker, she does everything she possibly can to heal injuries and illnesses of others she meets To most, Ophelia hardly looks the sort that could do anything besides tend to the most delicate of duties- but, as shown by the fact that she has survived past many a million others, there is certainly more to her than meets the eye. She refuses to give up on her life and the lives of those around her and is, surprisingly, stubborn and strong willed- she may not look it, but Ophelia wont back down from what she believes, nor will she settle for anything.
Of course, she does at times miss life within the safety of her family, even after just a year, to the life she now leads. She is however generally satisfied witih things, never once offering even the beginning of a complaint. Also apparently Pious, being sure to at least still observe some sort of belief system. While it is uncertain as to if she continues to do this on basis of habit and it's calming effects, she does stick to it. Well respected, well liked- Ophelia's personality is all around goodness and kindness in a world that seems to be heading to hell.
There is something of a slight oddness, however, about Ophelia. Generally, she's pleasant and normal- but put into high conflict situations, she can react on a very different scope- from insanely fearful to almost uncanny amount of calm and compulsion. Generally, this is written off as something of a psychological result of life as she leads it after some unknown incident.
Character Flaws: -Obsessive compulsive -nervous -when tired, could be prone to possession -shy -Leans a bit towards they mystical instead of the scientific -
Character Highlights: -overtly sensitive -highly trained with mediumship and other paranormal-related topics -friendly when prompted - well meaning - dedicated to her cause
-There is no Dana, only Zuul-
Backstory: Ophelia's birth was hardly out of the ordinary. At a very young age she demonstrated exceptional paranormal sensitivitiy in a family that was already involved in individual investivations. Hastily her mother, as a medium, began training and lessons for her and her older brother, choosing to immediately homeschool them. Further segregated from society in their forest-surrounded home, her father she learned about the basics of normal society, the bulk of her life was lived simply. By the time she was 6, her brother had left to live with his father's family despite his mother's wishes, and Ophelia had shown extensive promise to rise through the levels that her mother had been- that was, if levels were important in the backwoods world of their separate little existence. Life was simple but wonderful and is often the cause of why Ophelia doesn't always seem completely to mesh with regular life. Others eventually came to live alongside the Eelanor family, and While secluded, the small community of seers existed separate from the turmoils of more active individuals, instead choosing to live life simply and alone- without dealing with the rather strange view of people like them by the outside world.
Ophelia, however, was a restless soul. In the back of her mind she could feel the ebb of emotional unrest from spirits, fear for what could happen- everything that she couldn't quite control. Despite her mother's constant warnings, she constantly began to wonder farther and farther away from home.
By the time she was 20, she'd moved away from home and into New York's inexpensive housing. While her reasons and motives are unclear it is obvious that she has intentions that do not necessarily involve becoming an actual stand-out against the budding fear in the more normal citizinry of New York. On a whole, she distrusts the people of the town, carefully guarding each friend, move, and word that she utters. Her distrust of the town that had been instilled into her by her family however never once lessened and because of this any talents that could prove her ability to rise in level have been thus far not demonstrated in open concession. However, while understanding that she may not be the most openly active of individuals, she has discovered that her talents can be of use in a more secretive of ways. She's begun 'watching' the activities of threatening parties while keeping a close eye on the actions of the ghostbusters. While never open in her observations, she is careful at all times to maintain a 'common' sound herself she's thus far maintained a position in the as a tarot card and palm reader in the small shop just around the corner from the ghostbusters HQ. However, in order to maintain existence in the city, however, she's taken a job as a waitress at a diner that is, like much of her life, near the ghostbusters HQ. Activity always seems highest here, so her perceptions are constantly spiked. As a waitress nearby the famed offices, she is able to keep an eye on all activities that could possibly lend themselves against the citizens of the city that she, ironically enough, generally avoids. Currently lives in the lower-class areas in a cheap apartment.
-Who Ya' Gonna Call?-
RP sample- The hustle and bustle of early Monday morning was always an especial level of rush that just never could be repeated another day of the week. Sure Friday had it's rush and Wednesday it's dull slow movements... but Monday? Monday was something on it's own level. Ophelia was no different. balancing papers and a box along with what seemed to have been a shoulder back.. she looked hardly the part of anything even remotely aware of the paranormal . Perhaps a desk clerk.. a secretary. Even some kind of postal worker. So what was she, Of all the people, routing her way up the hallways of the university's faculty offices. This young woman certainly didn't seem to fit the bill. A quiet, twittery woman who had no real business being an auror. From height and visual disposition alone she looked hardly the part of a paranormal ivestigator- much less an exceptionally adept medium and psychic. Flowers. Baking. Cuddly pets and sweets. Nice respectable things that nice respectable girls with nice respectable histories did.
That's what could've been expected for one Ophelia Eelanor if she'd been asked when she was eleven. Before the ghosts, before the slime.. before ghostbusters and certainly before the spirit world came into her mind. Even still; despite seemingly absolutely fine, there was a sort of intensity about lovely little Miss Eelanor. Like she'd focused for long on one little thing and one day woke up to find that one little thing just managed to cause the end of something dear. Of something living. Of something that might've more or less provided life to her. It was nothing though in the present mind of the rather elusively unsocial part nurse part medium- something that she managed to compartmentalize with the sort of restraint expected of a talented psychic.
Yet still cuddly-kitty-selling looks aside, she did have business; important business from the looks of it that seemed to dwindle her actual attention to the world that looped around her. She looked absolutely distracted- the top layer of her mousy brown hair pulled back messily with what appeared to be a pencil and her clothes managed a slight disheveled look. Clearly, something was up- and even more clearly.. it was the only thing on her mind.
