After translating what I can (since my Japanese is poor), I'd wager these are a novelization attempt, starting from the selection of the girls by the Oracle.

And maybe considered new, since the first one looks like was released just last June, and the second last December.

Might see some success this time around, though I don't know how dead the "magic girl" theme in manga is.

if its true what spellbinder said, then its not a real manga, just a novel. but you never know.
or did I misinterpret the word novelization by any chance?

And did a little further investigation, and manga is not described as "book" through there.

Of course, there's still a chance for me to be wrong in this, but I'm pretty confident they're novels.

I think they're novels as it shows the title under the japanese name saying "The Power Of Five" and "The Disappearance" just like the novels.

I think it's a common W.I.T.C.H novel, but the drawings are, of course, Japonese

yeah.. i love the manga version of the covers though.. they all look cute!!

Interesting that they might get a second chance in japan but to be honest I like the art style for the manga much better then these novels.

But the manga was a comic, this seems just like a novel with a japanese cover, of course

perhaps they are Japanese translations of english chapter book novels?

seems like it.. after all, most Japanese don't speak English...

Perhaps they might be trasnlating the adventure books soon

The manga witch characters are really cute!

It might even be a novelisation of the manga, seeing as they made a few changes to plot elements and character appearences.
