I like her!
I think most of our members do.
would you like me to make a poll out of your question?

IrmaLair1998 - April 15, 2012 03:22 AM (GMT)
I love her! Why they took her out, we will never know. :(

LoopyLor - April 15, 2012 04:13 PM (GMT)
Yeah, a poll would be great! :)

As for me, I love Orube as a character.

Tekira - April 15, 2012 06:35 PM (GMT)
First I didn't really like her and her attitude, but now I love her :)

I love Orube one of my favorite characters but it was really sad to see her go. I hope she comes back at some point. :)

LoopyLor - April 17, 2012 12:55 AM (GMT)
Orube was a really well developed character who stood out for me because she was older and lacked all that teen angst and drama. She went from being insular to relying on the group and learning that she is more than a warrior.

Then as soon as they make her a good character and set her up for possible romance, they go and put her on a bus never to be seen again.

I really don't understand why they got rid of her.

I think the answer is in your post, Loopy. They got rid of her because she was older and lacked all that teen angst and drama.

i love orube so i can't understand...why?what's with her age?it's good for the readers to know that all this drama thing when you are a teenager is gonna pass...and they will grow up...and if they liked orube they would like to be as nice as she is.

LoopyLor - April 17, 2012 07:03 AM (GMT)
Not sure about her age, but she was old enough to enroll at university. So that gives a small hint.

I like Orube :) I think she was a really good character because she was very different to the others, because she wasn't used to life on Earth. But she was a strong and fearless warrior; another thing I liked about her.

I also agree with what you said, SpellBinder!

I would have really liked for her to return. But maybe the writers couldn't think of what to do with her, she would just be hanging around with the other WITCH girls...Think about it; When Orube was in the comics it was good because she wasn't used to anything on Earth. But if she was to be brought back she'd understand everything after a while, and she might even start being all girlish or something...It could even ruin the character that she used to be!

I really like Orube but I think it might have been good that they didn't bring her back in to the story...

i have never tought of that but it sounds like a good reason to get orube out of the comic...but it still hurts,i would like to see her ending up with cedric... :P

When you've got a target audience you'll want them to be able to identify with the main/most frequent characters. With a target audience of middle-school girls, a more mature woman (Orube) isn't going to be so easily identified with, save those girls who have an older sister who's going to a college or university.

She can still be brought back, and at best would be in a more supporting role compared to the other girls. It'd be one of those delicate things that can easily blow up in their (the writers) faces if they're not careful.

The removal of Orube from the cast was my first big dissapointment with the comics.

I wouldn't mind seeing her at least appear from time to time, or maybe a storyline that involves the Guardians having a mission on her homeworld.

I like Orube and I really miss Orube! I want her back in to the comics but I don't think that will happen...:(
