New MF Music and Update from MIKE!, 1/18/06

Magna-Fi has a taste of their new album up for download for us fans. The new track "well Well" which is awesome.

The new track is rockin. I can't wait to hear a new album when it's finished! Maybe I'll be lucky enough to see them come back to Maine again on their next time out on the road. Keep up the ROCK!

I know it's been a looooong while, here's what's up,

So, we finished touring for Burn Out The Stars, got home to Vegas and had to sort things out. I guess we hoped that things would blow up, but it was kind of just our first step in the business. I figured our next step was to make a better album than the last one, and we got down to it. we had a bunch of songs written and I set out to fill the rest of what would be a cool cd, something we really believed in.
Rehearsals were tense, cos everyone had high expectations, I think my brother especially. We did all the pre production (getting the songs tight) and then C.J. and Charlie had a disagreement about something totally unrelated to Magna-Fi. It came down to "What do you guys want to do?" and C.J. said he wanted to leave the group. I respect the guy (he is my brother and all) and whatever his reasons, I want him to be happy, so we decided he would not stay in the band. The next thing was to make the record.
I flew an engineer in from my old hometown of Cleveland to help me with the recording of Charlie's drum tracks, then Rob and I finished the album. I had a very good friend of mine, Chris Brady (a Vegas guy), play some guitar on the cd, and he was awesome.
Now that the album is done, we are sending it out to people in the music business in hopes of getting it signed to a label. We'd would like to tour again, and see all the cool people we saw out there again, but we'll need a label to do it (for cash....).
I set up a new MySpace page, and posted 4 songs there for people to check out, it's www.myspace.com/magnafi1
let me know what you think of the tunes (this means everyone), I'm coming out of my shell now that the recording is done, and I'm gonna keep up with the message board and try to interact as much as possible. We're calling the new cd "VerseChorusKillMe" and I'm really proud of it and it would be cool to know what Magna-Fi fans think of it.
I'm also going to do a complete overhaul on the Magna-Fi site, would like to see if a label picks it up before I do it, but it will be all new and updated soon,
I want to thank all of our fans who have hung in there with us! With everything we've been through, we could have called it a day but we just don't feel like quitting (it's not in our nature I guess), and we love what we do.

Thanks for the update Mike. You KNOW Kim and I will be here to do ANYTHING we can for you guys. Hell we drove all the way from Richmond, VA to Cleveland just to see y'all play at the Odeon! If you need any web help please let me know. I do this sort of thing for a living. I am not much of a flash guy but I can call in some markers if need be. I do a pretty good job with my site development. All you need to do is ask! Love to see y'all on the road soon.

Thanks, cool to see that you guys are still into the band after all that time we went underground, We're going to shop this record and get it a deal so we can get back on the road. The new site is coming along, should be up this week, it's a little scary (like the new album!)

Also, just wanted to say how relieved everyone here was when you posted, I tried to get a hold of you a few times, but you guys have so much going on that I wasn't suprised i didn't get a response.

Hey Jay,
Our plan is to get this album picked up by a label a soon as possible, that way we'll have the money to get back on the road. We have it out to a few people now and we're just playing the waiting game. The way I look at it, if someone hears this whole new cd and doesn't get back to us in a short period of time, they probably aren't blown away and wouldn't be cool to work with. We are definitely going to exhaust every avenue we know of to hopefully get it to the right people who really like it, and can do the job of getting out to everyone.
I like the look of the board and it matches the new site design.
We have a new guitar player, his name is Chris Brady and he is working out great. Been rehearsing this whole new album and a couple of songs from BOTS and it rocks. Next month we're going to do new photos (I took the crazy blond streak out of my hair.....) and I'll post them on the site, for now we are using our last press photo and Photoshopping in Chris.

Which band was Chris in? Was is Epsteins Mother? & then he got into another band with that cute blonde guy. (i'm laughing at myself cause i cant remember the name) Red somethng - i dont remember..
His name sounds familiar & i can almost picture his face.
Actually thought i saw him in the airport around christmas with the blonde guy, cause i did a double take. My friend used to like him
But then again, i might have it all screwed up in my head.
