Because Robin is made to be tortured.
Because he is too beautiful, perfect, and adorable to live.

wub.gif So true 9odly_evil.

He's just asking for it. Batman's ex-side kick. Also, pushing himself to the limits and being the only human on a supermeta team. It's only logical a villain would want to target the 'non-super powered hero' and torture him. But we love as such.

Because he is just so full of himself some times. He can seemingly worship every mirror he walks past.

Villans will naturally want to cut him down a peg.

Also- he's batmans kid! imagine how popular you'd be if you could say "hey- I got the bat's kid last night"

So true Graysongirl. Plus Batman would be pissed too, especially if one of us managed to have Robin at our houses.

I think it's because he can either be excruciatingly innocent or headstrong and defensive. Which ever one we all want to interpret with Slade. Usually it's both. And that duality between child and teen is what makes him Robin! ...And what makes Slade want to glomp him...

*evil laugh* So I am not alone, then. I thought I'm the only one who thought that Robin lives to be tortured..

Agreed, he's too cute not to be biggrin.gif

I mean, look at the old comics! He got kidnapped like, everyday. Now if that isn't love I don't know what is. It makes me wish even more that Slade was around in those comics. Ah well, I guess I'll just have to live with Joker/Robin and Catwoman/Robin for those comics.

But, yeah, Robin's too adorable to be allowed to live. Why is it always the cute ones that get harrased?

Why is it enjoyable to see Robin tortured?

...

Well, I dunno what yer guyses' excuse is, but I'm SadoMasochistic!!! xD

Oh, and I'd also like to add that torturing Robin is Slade's way of saying "I love you." ^/////^

^o.O

Yes, probably..happy.gif

So the way Slade says "I love you" must be very unique then..
He loves to torture people, so torturing Robin means he loves the boy..mm..it's reasonable..biggrin.gif

^ Well, you can't make a Rob/Sla site and not expect to get a couple wild cards. ^^

But yeah...I dunno...it was just a wild guess. If you ask me, Slade's just plain sadistic...or he's just a guy, and like any other guy, he likes to have power. I dunno. If I'd've figured it out by now, I'd probably... "get it". xD In the meantime, my DC-style suffers.

Wait...what were we talking about again? o_o

Nice post Perian Ardocyl!

Well besides being so cute, young, asking for trouble, born to be center of the torture world, one cannot forget about the traffic-light costume.

And it's strange, but the only way I see Slade expressing any love towards Robin would be through torturing him. I mean you've got Stockholm's syndrome but then maybe with him, Stockholm the other way around: Torturer loving victim.

It's hard not to get Rob/Sla and DC comics mixed up. ^^; Which reminds me, now that my connection's back, I'll start working on the banner again.

Red, green, and yellow...I hadn't thought about it before Small Print. So do you mean that by wearing such goofy colors, he's asking to be tortured?

And the whole reverse stockholm thing is believable. Like at the end of the chapter where Robin gets a serious facial(and yes, I'm puttin' that lightly), well...I've never "seen" Slade so out of it.

In a way...kinda. I know it's like an omage to his parents and all, but fighting villians in the dark with such bright colors does make you stand out. I mean, if you were a villian and saw a guy dressed up as a bat and a kid dressed up in red, green and yellow, whom would you think is the weaker? Sure the kid just cause of the fact that he is a kid, but also because just seeing those colors, one might think 'wuse', or not such a serious fighter.

So in one way, it attracts attention. But then Robin turns it around and uses it to his advantage because his opponents think him weak--which is totally wront.

Ok, enough. I'm done. This is long enough. tongue.gif

That's a good point! I've never really taken a good look into the psyche of a villain...might come in handy later. But Robin's such an acrobat, so I kinda think such colors suit him.

I wish they would've at least kinda kept them a little when making the movie, though. Instead, they deck him out all in grey and silver. Oh well. At least he's IN it.
