The villain's got this twisted way of shoving the truth in your face all the time...and...like Robin...you end up learning something...

So what can Slade teach you about yourself? Or how can he teach you to be a "better you"?

well since it has to be taught to us we might not know what it is yet or subconcously(sorry for bad spelling) we know it but don't want to admit it and usually we don't want to admit because we don't like it.

^well I tried to sound smart...

hmm tough question though i really don't have an answer. The best person to ask might be the person that knows you the best seeing that people disillusion themsevles. I might be one of them...

^Ok if that didn't make any sense at all i'm sorry.

Heh, I hadn't thought of that, actually...wow. This question falls flat on it's face in light of that. xD

Ok, new question...anyone read both "Nemesis" AND "Small Print"(two very long and praiseworthy fanfics of this pairing)?

If so, whadd'ya think? The both of them show almost complete polar opposites of Slade...so it's really interesting to compare and contrast them...

I know. It's so hard to write the guy. It's nice to see Slade as this caring man, almost like he was before he became a criminal. And then you got a villain whose up to par with the Joker.

I kinda like the two polar stories. It leaves you pondering who the guy truly is, underneath all those complex levels.

As to what he teaches about ourselves, I would have to say that everyone has a dark side that is urging to break free. He's like the Snake, whispering temptation to make us fall. And by doing that he shows the grays of the world and nothing can be perfect.

Yeah. I guess the thing you gotta keep in mind with villains is that it's never black and white. Somewhere along the way, something gave...

Now, I keep thinking of Hitler as we discuss this, because with him, it kinda IS black 'n white. I mean...the guy's insane. Literally mad. o_0

But something tells me Slade's not like that.

Yeah, Hitler... blink.gif Crazy man.

I think that what makes Slade so 'scary' and impressionable and his words hit more home because he does have this sane aura around him. That he's just a 'regular' guy and not like some psychopath, which you can use as an excuse.

Aw, really? Yeah, I guess you're right...no matter what Slade does, it's always so...methodical. Not erratic at all.

He could almost be a good guy, if he wanted to.

Wow, could you even imagine Slade as a good guy? That would be...wierd... *still trying to picture Slade as a hero*

What would he be like? Another Batman? Maybe like a more balanced Batman, not so dark? Great, now I'm going to pondering about that all day. tongue.gif

Hmm, I believe Slade can teach us that there's more to people than meets the eye. Also that eve villains can have a soft side for something or other. biggrin.gif

Hmm slade as batman. *sees slade wearing batman cape and saying come robin to the slade cave* That's a strange image blink.gif Though Batman and Slade do have a lot in common.

They both don't have powers
They both had Robin
They both have butlers
They both like to lecture Robin
They both can be creepy and secrective... the list goes on

I imagine his new tone of voice would somewhat remind one of the Brain's...(from Pinky and the Brain).

Wait, I don't know how many of you are reading the comics, but I do think he posed as Batman in the Outsiders comics. He fooled like Arsenal. He didn't look bad actually in the bat suit.

Another thing Slade can teach you: how to be a great impersonator. cool.gif

i think he can also teach you how to be a stalker. He does have video cameras set up like every where and is constantly watching people. Slade is like the ultimate stalker. Though video cameras everywhere and a grown man stalking kids. O_o It sounds a little prevy for a kids show. mellow.gif

I think he wouldn't really teach me anything. I love him too much, I can imagine (say I'm with the TT or something) he'd come and be all like, "Work for me"
And that would be it. Maybe I'd learn how to be a better fighter or something...

I agree with Malokitty. I'm constantly surprised at the suggestiveness of practically everything Slade does.

But who knows...perhaps deep down inside, he just wants to be a father again. unsure.gif
