Maybe, but going around beating the stuffing out of teenagers doesn't seem like a good father to me.

*on an offish topic note
And maybe if he really wanted to be a father travel back in time and make sure his own kids don't get killed or adopt Richard before Bruce gets a chance. Do they have time traveling technology in the titans world? Maybe he could just steal some of warps from titans tower. (just for the record I'm not that original i read an fanfic where he did steal warps technology)

Hah, so true...but yeah, actually, maybe he could even cut a deal with that one guy with the 'stache. (you know, the villain in the episode where Starfire goes into the future? I think it was called 'how long is forever', or something...)

Ah, the father topic. I think to some degree Slade does want to be a father. He failed with two of his sons and is trying to make up with Rose and Robin. And I think that is unique. When you think about, I would say Slade is jealous that Batman and Robin have this father/son relationship. Sure it fell apart but still that Robin considers is Batman shows how strong their relationship is. And I think Slade always wanted that type of relationship with his own children and Robin.

Slade wanted a son and someone to respect him and since he didn't have that, his jealousy is what makes him a villain. And I love that cause if you see Slade like this, Slade is a very very different and unique villain, no longer the 'take-over-the-world' type. So Slade teaches how one can be jealous yet twist that jealousy into such a manipulative, scary, disturbing, pragmatist supervillain.

(Then of course he probably just wants a heir, torture Robin and take over the world, in which Slade teaches that simplicity is never a bad thing laugh.gif )

So, every villain has something that makes them a villain...some are psycho, some are obsessed with power, some are freaks of nature...Slade's just...jealous? Interesting. happy.gif But it really does connect the dots with his tendency to lecture and patronize(not to mention clearing him of all pedophile-related charges!).

Nah, Slade really is just a pedophile. It's obvious in the show and even in the comics; he really does have a relationship with Terra so it screams that it's true.
Slade dressed as Batman, I have to buy the Outsiders comics and see that. But really Slade and Batman do have a lot in common.
I think Slade can teach everyone about trying to do stuff that you won't regret. Seeing as he's trying to repent for his failure in his first two sons by teaching Robin and being close to him instead of neglecting him like the rest of his children.

I remember that issue of Outsiders, crazy stuff. Yeah, I don't know which version is scarier the comicbook version of Slade or the cartoon version. They both exude a villain who has no doubts about being on the 'wrong' side of the law and his little hobby of corrupting the youth (on all levels).

I find the tv series Slade to be worse because they never really explain his reasoning behind his deeds. In the comic books he always had a reason that seemed to make whatever he had done a bit better, at least in my opinion. Also, Deathstroke is moral and just, in his own way, I can't be too sure about the series Slade.

Wow, it's been awhile but today I realized something else Slade can teach you. And that is being creative. Not only do you have to outwit him in fighting, but think of moves way ahead, moves to catch him off guard and the mind games and verbal treats and the traps. I can go on and on, but yeah that hit me today. My friend and I were talking about torture again and I just had to think of Slade and boom, creative streak.

That's a good point. If you don't use your creativity to stay ahead or at least with Slade then you'll be completely unprepared for him and utterly destroyed when he attacks.

It's been awhile since I last posted in here...

But I realized that Slade has taught me how to gloat. How to narrow the eyes in such a way, smirk in a tight manner with the head tilted to the side and talk in a selfish chipper tone.

Now, I haven't liked beaten someone in fight and gloated that way. But around me, friends are freaking out because of all the papers they have still finish. And here I am, done all ahead of a time. So, while they rant, I find myself exuding that quiet gloating posture. And I must say it brings me a bit of self-satisfaction. happy.gif

You feel a little guilty when you realise you're doing it though.
