http://www.angelfire.com/ar2/thefoxden/sounds.html THE NOISE IS CALLED FAR OFF CRY WE ONLY HEARD THE SCREAMING PART OF IT... 20 TIMES THE REST OF THE RECOREDED CRY WE DIDN'T HEAR. IMAGINE THAT WITHOUT RECORDING AND BIRDS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITH JUST A TENT BETWEEN YOU AND THE NOISE...
So Some Int 1s decided they would camp in the woods last sunday despite the TA rave being postponed but being my beloved an00bises I couldn't leave them alone so I decided to join them. The night went well until 1AM when I decided to go to bed. There was definitely something making noise outside so I couldn't get to sleep out of paranoia and curiosity of what it was. So as not to alarm my fellow happy campers I said I was going to the toilet when I went out to investigate. Strangely enough I could see nothing, the combined strength of my eyes and some shitty torch that probably came out of a cereal box was not enough to penetrate the deep shadows of our forbidden forrest.
I managed to sleep for an hour on and off until 3AM I heard the most terrifying thing I have ever heard. Imagine the scariest scream in any horror movie you've ever seen about times 10 and you're close then imagine it in the real world with only a tesco value tent skin between you and whatever made the noise and you're even closer.
I thought this would be a good time to tell you who was with me. I was there With Elaine Kerr, Kirsten Duncan, Alan Kammer, Mick Munsen. In my tent was Elaine and Mick and Kammer and Kirsten were in the other tent.
Not only did That bastard ghost( I could only presume the worst) scream, but it proceeded to scream at least another 20 times each more horrifying than the last. Thankfully now I wasn't the only one awake and in the scardest voice I've ever heard Elaine rolled over and said to me "Davies, what was that?"
I told her I didn't know but I was gonna find out. What I didn't tell her was that I was 10 times as afraid as she was and the only reason I hadn't crapped myself was cause I hadn't eaten much that night.
The next thing I heard in a voice that sounded even more terrified than mine or Elaines was Kammer calling from the other tent
"Davies?" followed by me screaming in terror
"IT WASN'T ME IT WASN'T ME IT WASN'T ME"
the only possible thing it could've been that wouldn't scare me to death just asked if it was me. FUCK
"Davies come over here he said"
"After you" I said
"I'm already over here" HE SAID
"Fuck" I said and proceeded to scramble around for the torch to get out and check what the fuck it was that made that noise.
as I tried to open the tent I decided there was no way I was getting out on my own with whatever the fuck it was as more than likely it would proceed to rip me to shreds so I said to Kammer to open his tent and get out at the same time as me on a count of 3
3 came and went and I was out and he was still inside the cowardly bastard
he claims he was looking for his shoes. Aye right whatever.
Anyway the 2 of us were out there eventually with torches shaking like a leaf on a tree absolutely terrified to the extent that after failing to see what was making the noise I proceeded to take a piss on a nearby tree nothing to do with fear of course, I was courageously marking my territory to scare off whatever the bastard thing was.
Kammer and I were far too afraid to venture into the woods in search of whatever it was especially when the only weapons we had were a <1 inch pen knife and a collection of nearby sticks so rotten that when swung air resistance broke them.
After a 1 second debate Kammer and I had decided that the best plan of action was to courageously turn tail and fucking leg it leaving all the food and the tents/sleeping bags/anything not valuable behind and to come back in the morning WITH WEAPONS to see what the fuck it was and if the tents were still there.
Of course not being complete cowards or being lazy bastards everyone else thought it would be a plan to stay in the tents especially michael who hadn't even got up yet about 10 minutes after the initial incident, Maybe he's brave, maybe he's a deep sleeper. Who knows AND AT THE TIME WHO CARES despite being outvoted 3 to 2, we vetoed the decision to leg it and leg it we did. I wasn't going to be eaten by some HUGE BEAST and I wasn't gonna feel safer simply because I was crammed in a 2 man tent with 5 people in it.
Anyway when I got back home at 3AM my mum wasn't at all pissed and said she reckoned it was a badger. BEFORE you laugh badgers have killed people in the past and numerous people in this country have had to have amputations due to badgers in the past year or so. So I googled badger scream and it said That badgers sometimes scream FOR REASONS UNKNOWN and that the scream is so scary hunters have given up hunting for life after hearing them scream. That sounds about right I thought.
By 5 it was light and we went out to see if the tents were still there of course we were packing heat man

a bigger 2!!! inch knife
an empty dumbbell
There was nothing the bastard was gone and we were left with no evidence so I ask of you
BRING
something to record video if we can get footage of what must be a 10 foot badger
bring something to record sound if you can so we can hear the ghastly scream and post it on the net for all to hear of our haunted woods
bring a weapon else it's gonna own you in the night.
