Uunaqsaun Qáqaq (Oon-ag-sa-oo Ka-ak) The ground is warm, under its fury, paw pads harden, the fur is thinned, yet long. The air around the mountains, despite the altitude and latitude, is considerably warm, the stone, burning to the touch. Legends claim that this mountain is a volcano, immobilized by time, Yet this is not proven. All that is known is that an enchantment is over the land, It is a warm presence, a blanket over the region. No wolf can explain this warm region, it defies all but one reason, magic. Love ones are burned into ash here, returning to the land from which they were sprouted. Extending over the Auma Tikibag are the Uunaqsaun Qáqaq, the Heater mountains. Auma Tikibag (A-oom-a Tee-kee-bag) The forest glows, day and night. Flames rise among the trees, yet do not burn a soul. The embers of this place glow day and night. These flames, take the ashes of poor souls from the Uunaqsaun Qáqaq and spread them over the land they loved. Here, wolf and the death that may have captured an innocent life live side by side, prospering, Living fully. They help each other out, among tall redwoods, in a warm peace, not seen anywhere else in the world…this is, the Auma Tikibag, the live coal forest.
