Why isn't there a Multiplayer option in Trancendence? (besides enormus god ships)
Problems and Solutions God ships: More god ships. Sharing Mod Files: moderator can set so only mod files allready on both computers can be used, or no mods allowed (Boring though.) Chat: Maybe somebody can code a communicator? PlayerObj: Ummm... Hmmmm... In most cases, PlayerObj means the player responsible for the calling of PlayerObj, and a MPlayerObj (one extra parameter), which selects: The player who called it (0), Everybody (-1) and 1-Inf (or the maximum number of pepole the server lets on) an individual player. for example, a few commands in what I would write for a comm device: setq (which I hope means =)Ply1 GetPlayerName (which is a variable set by the player) 1 (that 1 being in whatever place you put params in in ext code) setq ply2 GetPlayerName 2 (and so on. then when the item is used:) (however you display those choice menus like the one that pops up when you hit ESC or Q and C when you have some autons deployed) A=Ply1 B=Ply2 (etc, It displays A beside the name of Ply1 and when you press a, the menu thingy returns 1, hit B, 2; C=3 and so on, then you ) PlayerObj n (n being what the menu command returned)SendMessage gSource Nil (is that how you do it?) Chat$ (a string containing what you want to say.) So the chat text would be shown in that blue text area where all the messages in the game are sent. Also with multiplayer and god ships we can test one of Zeno's paradoxes, What happens when an immovable object meets an irresistable force? (My guess is that the force wins, the object moves.) |

Mostly there's no multiplayer option because it would be a lot of work, and this game only has one developer. And to be honest, it doesn't really need one. It's not that sort of game.
There has been some discussion of a multiplayer arena feature, but nothing ever came of it. Any such feature would most likely be entirely player-created. --------------------

Show me the source code! (Tom Criuse reference, I think) Chilcote Editing would be happy to take your case. |

You would have to talk to the developer himself. He resides at neurohack.com, and you are looking for George Morimisato. You could ask him for the code, but I don't know if he will just give it to you.
