fossaman - December 28, 2005 07:33 PM (GMT)

To start off:
The description of Kennebec Salmonite reads:
"This vat-grown synthetic meat taste almost, but not quite, totally unlike salmon."
The word taste needs an S on the end.

When you have more than one plasma torch it lists it as "x plasma torchs" when it needs to list it as "x plasma torches."
Mingan - January 11, 2006 02:41 AM (GMT)
In the quantumsphere shell description, it tells "This recepticle contains the fierce energies that power the quantumsphere disintegrator."
recepticle isn't a word, but receptacle is. I'm also thinking of making some small app to extract the item descriptions and maybe more stuff. It would be easier to find typos that way. But don't hold your breath.
Psycholis - January 12, 2006 07:55 PM (GMT)
"Your armor is now resistant againt ion damage."
Should be against. I don't know if the other ones are the same.

I picked this up while reading the transcendence.xml file in the .095 source package.
After you have purchased insurance, and try to re-insure yourself and ship, you get this message:
"You are already insured by our conglomerate. Rest assured that you are protected against all loses by the most comprehensive insurance in the Commonwealth."
"loses" should become "losses".
I did not test this in the latest version.

There's a typographical error when you buy insurance.....it says "loses" instead of "losses". I'll post the particulars later.

The information sign in St. K's. Is "capital" supposed to be "capitol"?
the_holy_thom - February 21, 2006 09:17 PM (GMT)
id say no, but im english, i dont know how it is in the US. i have to put up with armor sellers and color in the xml
fossaman - February 21, 2006 10:45 PM (GMT)
No, it's correct as it is. Capital means a city that is the center of government, or a CAPITAL letter. Capitol is something that goes on top, or a capitol building, etc.
Hookoa - February 21, 2006 11:32 PM (GMT)
Oops, my bad. Shows how gud ah knows mah english.

The description for P1000 Hexphase Armor:
CODE
"Hexphase armor is used by Commonwealth Star Carriers. P500-grade armor can withstand 500 units of ion damage before collapsing."
In fact, just read the whole thing:
CODE
<!-- Segment of P1000 Hexphase armor -->
<ItemType UNID="&itP1000HexphaseArmor;" name= "segment of P500 Hexphase armor" level= "9" value= "30000" mass= "50000" modifiers= "Military; MinorItem" frequency= "veryrare" numberAppearing= "1d4"
description= "Hexphase armor is used by Commonwealth Star Carriers. P500-grade armor can withstand 500 units of ion damage before collapsing."
firstPlural= "true" sortName= "Hexphase armor, P500, segment of" >
<Image imageID="&rsItems1;" imageX="0" imageY="0" imageWidth="96" imageHeight="96"/>
<Armor hitPoints= "100" damageAdj= " 8, 8, 14, 14, 20, 40,100,100, 100,100,100,100, 125,125,200,200" repairTech= "7" repairCost= "10" installCost="1500"
composition="carbide" />
</ItemType> |
I found that in the xml. shouldn't the description say P1000, not P500?
Sero - February 27, 2006 08:35 PM (GMT)
Heh. I suspect George used the P500 entry as a basis for the P1000, and forgot to make the changes. :P

Here's one; In the description of the Barrel of Reflective Armor Coating, the description reads
CODE
This coating is nearly perfectly reflective at all laser weapon wavelengths. A ship's armor coated with this substance will be immune to laser weapons."
I think the "at" after reflective should be a "to". I'm probably wrong about this.
the_holy_thom - March 14, 2006 11:06 PM (GMT)
I think at works ok, to would work as well. It probably means it isnt reflective at other wavelengths or whatever
Frits - March 15, 2006 04:35 AM (GMT)
It's a wavelength so it can be 'at' or 'on', but i would put 'nearly' before all probably just cos it's not my native language and this sounds natural to me. Or is it sounds 'on' me?
Yugimotomanager - March 22, 2006 04:28 PM (GMT)
I keep noticing this one, but keep forgetting to put it here.
In the description of the Sapphire, it says
CODE
The versatile Zubrin Yatch is.....
I believe it should say "Yacht", not yatch.
Ghengis - March 24, 2006 01:52 PM (GMT)
As far as "at" versus "to": I believe the implication is that how well the armor reflects light is a function of the wavelength of the light. Thus, when that function is evaluated *at* the wavelength of any laser weapon, it is close to 100%. Yes?
John - July 13, 2006 05:08 PM (GMT)
The game states "you have enough cargo space to jettison this item." or something like that, which doesn't really make sense.
qubic - August 13, 2006 05:05 AM (GMT)
When contemplating at the Sanctum, I often see "...fragment of the Eternal Pattern.\n\nYou feel the blessing..."
Apparently \n is not being correctly interpreted as a newline by something or other.

titanium armour
"...one of the weakest material used..."
should that be materials? (not sure if this is the right one, but there is a typo somewhere in that armour description)

But yatch rhymes with ... (okay it's a silly joke)
goat_not_sheep - February 28, 2008 09:34 PM (GMT)
Hey. You came 2 years late with that joke.
trueler - September 6, 2010 09:25 PM (GMT)
And now, two years later, somebody posts again in this thread. I don't know if this is still an appropriate place to report them.
All these notes are taken from version 1.0.1:
- Tinkers: Text reads: "After much work with the robots the woman comes back with a segment of heavy ceramic armor. [...]", even when several of them have been created as opposed of a single one. Shouldn't text change to: "with several segments of heavy ceramic armor." or with the exact number of segments of heavy ceramic armor manufactured?
- Battle Arena: "Katami was my old trainer and he means a lot [of] me" -> shouldn't it be "means a lot [to] me"?
I have some other bugs to report and tried the bug trac. I have made an account, but I haven't been able to figure out how to report anything at all so far. I find it odd, really. I'm acquainted with computers and development and bug reporting. I even know a few things about declarative languages, but can't find any link that lets me report any issues.
