Appearance: Naomi's appearance is just as her name impies; beautiful. The reason being is simple, her blood is mixed. While it's true she is mostly Japanese, about 60%, there are many cultures that have helped to subtley alter her look from that of an average Japanese woman to the exquisite creature that is her. Italian, German, and Chinese blood course through her veins, and have contributed in forming her beauty (the story behind this is in her history). Her skin is beautifully pale, like the silver moon, with only a hint of peachy cream-color to give her a look of fresh, young life. this color combination comes from the German and Italian blood in her in her. It's luminious in the light, be it moonlight, candlelight, or sunlight, and for the most part is as soft as it looks, but her work has caused dry spots and calluses to form on her hands, elbows, knees, the bottoms of her feet and she has several scars, though not immensly noticable. Her nails are short and break from her hardy work, which takes away from her graceful slender hands, but if she had the oppurtunity to grow them, they would be strong and long and they would accentuate her beauty. Her structure is healthy and porportionate, her shillouette perfect, her posture graceful. She is neither too narrow, nor too broad, too tall or too short, too muscular or too gaunt. Her body is toned, and she has strength from heavy-lifting and stable-keeping, however she carries herself in a firm, but gentle and graceful manner. Her skin is plump with youth, her body an hour-glass figure, slightly more prominent that that of the avarage girl of her age. But then all of her is more mature than should be already by several years, giving her an air of wise adulthood, mixed with childish charms. Her face is slightly rounded, her lips full, pink and average sized, often reffered to as "rosebud lips". Her cheeks possess a slight color that matches her lips, so they are naturally accentuated. Her eyes are slightly wider is shape than the average asian, and the chinese in her causes her, thick, black lashes to curve somewhat at the ends, giving her eyes a cat-like effect. Her brows are thin and delicately arched. Her face has the colors that give the appearance that she is wearing some kind of make-up or stain (of course though, she isn't, especially not for this time period) , when her face has none. Her work wouldn't allow make-up, for she would sweat it off, and she could never afford it. Her eye color is brown, but a very saturated brown, making her eyes seem like vibrant glass orbs. Her hair is medium brown, with black undertones, that feels like silk when brushed and reaches to the small of her back, but unfortunately her everyday chores cause her hair to rat and tangle, even when it's tied back. If given the oppourtunity, she would be a great beauty, but her work hides all of it, making her appear unnattractive.
Personality: From a first glance, Naomi appears shy, withdrawn. Sometimes it looks as if she conveys no emotions or thoughts at all, she only does what she's told. She hides her feelings well, keeping herself a secret from all, reminding herself to never let anyone in and know her strengths or weaknesses. However, if you observe for a while you will begin to notice that she does have emotions and thoughts, so much in fact, that you begin to feel what she's feeling. Often, the look in her eyes reveals a wise old soul, who's known many sad things in her life, and is waiting for death's bony, cold hands to reach out and take her to the afterlife. But not always does she show this sad side of her. Wheh she's out of the slave house, allowed free time for good behaviour, and she looks all about the world, her eyes light as if a million candels are brightly burning behind them. She loves to gain knowledge from observing. If it were her choice, all she would do is sit, and watch and practice any skills that she can, gaining more experience and trying new things doing everything she can to test her limit. But, she is only granted a short time to herself, and in that timne she observes what others might think of as nothing. She'll watch the water as is trickels over rocks, as fish swim about and water bugs play. She watches the seasons changes, and looks at all of nature as though it were all brand new to her. She watches the people, and wonders why they do what they do, why the world is as it is. She'll listen to all of the sounds, then wonder what makes the new ones. After she does that, often she will practice with her naginata, but always in secret. She'll look through her things to remember sweet memories. Then she will sit alongside a quiet road, and play her samisen, and dance like a giesha. She also loves to try new things, and tries to learn everything and do everything. Normally, she is quite passive, letting others have their own opinions, taking in new ideas from others, and offering advice when others want it, but pasion brews deep within her, and often times she has to hold back, for fear that if she says how she feel about a subject, she will be beaten for having such a low social class. She feels trapped, and has no way to escape, so always, she is seeking something more to take her mind from it all.
History: Though her mixed genes are quite rare, especially for this time an era, it happened, and all because of trades.
Mother's Side: Her mother's parents met when a small rural area of Japan was recieving trades from China. One of the trader's, a handsome Chinese merchant, became infatuated with a young girl from the village they were trading with. Soon his passion took him over, and he raped her, but the girl, young and impressionble, never told a soul about the incident. The merchant, afraid she would tell, offered her a middle-class chinese silk kimono that he himself paid for. While it was middle class, it was beautiful and ornate and she took it and vowed her silence. The result however of the rape was a baby girl, and a beautiful one. However her parents turned her out for becoming pregnant and slowing her work, so they sent her away. She then became a peddler, helping a higher merchant with sales, and learning on the sides Geisha abilities. She handed the chinese kimono, and her Geisha knowledge down to her daughter, Kumiko. She died shortly before her daughter turned 15.
Father's Side: Her father's great grandparents met when Germans were trading with Italy near it's coast. One of the German merchants began to notice a handsome Italian. She watched everyday as he came back to buy more items, though only small ones, for he was no rich man. Soon, the man told the woman of his feelings, and she confessed to him she was falling for him also. Before the trade's departure they promised to love each other forever, and the merchant had a risky night away from the German's camp spot. The next day they were to leave, and later, the woman found herself to be pregnant. She had forgotten the promised love only a month after the traders returned, for the love they thought they had was only a crush, a small flirt, and so she had married a fellow German. She assumed the baby his. It was a baby boy, strong and handsome, and soon she saw the face of her puppy loved Italian man in the boy's face as he grew older.
Soon the boy went with the German's to trade with Japan. While there, the German-Italian boy, now a man, grew fond of a woman around his age, a Japanese Geisha. And as a foreign trader he and the other mercants was granted permission to taste the lovely foods of Japan and entertainment, since their goods were valuable. Soon he had her alone, and she, wild and angry at her father, who ran the Geisha house, slpet with him. Later, she bore a handsome boy, Tetsuya Takara, who entered the military and learned both military expertise and ninja techinique, and the pattern that was to shape Naomi's life continued.
Parents: Tetsuya, Naomi's father, was a handsome German-Italian-Japanese cross, who grew up in Japan and he had learned many things from the military, as well as training with a master at a dojo and gaining many ninja techniques. He was of Shimin class, and later became a Ronin. Not long after leaving the military for reasons of wanting to be a samurai without a master, he met a Chinese-Japanese cross. A young lady, Kumiko, a beauty. She was of Komin rank, a Geisha, who had treid to make a good life after her mother died two years ago of hear disease. Soon, he began a courtship with her, bringing many things back from his travels, taking her around town. This lasted for a year, when finally, at age 18, Kumiko decided she would marry him. Kumiko then bore a child shortly after, and always Tetsuya and Kumiko were teaching her things. This beautiful baby of many races was named Naomi. She learned Geisha technique from her mother, as well as how to play the Samisen. Her father taught her in the way of the ninja, and how to use a naginata. Always Naomi seeked more knowlegde of different techniques. Ate age 10, she recieved a beautifu silk kimono from her mother, who had recived it from her mother before. Shortly afer Naomi turned 12, her mother died of heart disease. A year later, her father was murdered. Naomi, unsure of what to do, remained in the house, keeping all of her cherished belongings hidden. Soon, a Chonin noticed that no one but Naomi was living in the house, so he took Naomi. She gathered what she could, and soon she was traded to a slave house, where many young girls and boys were being used to work, while the head of the business recieved all the pay.
