Toyoshima
Welcome to Toyoshima, a province right along the coastline of mainland Japan. The year is 1601 and the flowers are resting heaveningly. The samurai from the Battle of Sekigahara are slowly returning home. Only problem is, there's no way to really tell which samurai is on which side, and with Tokugawa's recent orders to eliminate any surviving Western soldier, everybody's actions are warped by caution...

Chadana Town Chadana is a town constructed purely for entertainment purposes. During the day time, it looks as lifeless as any other place in Toyoshima, but at night time things turn wild. Courtesans line the streets, waiting outside lit up houses for wealthy shimin to join them for a few "activities". Theater productions are also staged and performed here, solely for the purpose of impressing samurai. Commoners have little place here, except for cleaning during the day time and providing entertainment at night to those of the shimin class.

Toukou Village Toukou Village is more famous for its protests and backlash against the samurai community than anything else. Protests about the shimin culture and caste systems in general are rising more and more since the death of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. As a way to "show they are sorry", they have been ordered to convert to making swords and paying their due respect to local samurai. Lately, the swordsmiths and villagers have been using their weaponry to hurt and expel any samurai that step foot in their little village. The Sekigahara War gave them just the excuse they needed to be able to successfully kill a few without reprimand.

Ohagi A largely successful village that focuses on harvesting rice for the good of Japan. When it comes to protesting or making any sort of impact, they're one of the quietest villages in the province. Ohagi Village is said to pretty much serve others like a dog. Many villagers resent this, but there's nothing to really do about it so they keep their silence, despite their sinking further and further into opression.

Bamboo Forest A large bamboo forest close to Toukou Village, its bamboo stalks stand close together and stretch up for the clouds. The bamboo is harvested and turned into food using the bamboo's shoots. The foliage is also sometimes used for feeding animals. It's an easy place to get lost, so children are strongly advised to keep away from the bamboo forest.

Samurai in-training are brought to the field for the first few tests of strength, loyalty, and honor. It's rarely not bustling with activity from commoners and shimin alike.

Byouma Byouma is a burakumin colony, rumored to be riddled with disease. Stories are told by children to scare them off from heading towards the "unclean" encampment. Supposedly, there's been an outbreak of some sort of disease in Byouma, but due to the avoidment of burakumin people by the rest of Japan, it doesn't seem to have spread yet.

Old Pagoda An old pagoda that's starting to crumble in on itself. Some Samurai from the War have taken refugee here, prefering to stay in the pagoda instead of facing potential death back in their homes. Bandits have begun to circle the area, searching for the refugees for a chance of gaining a pretty penny for being snitches. This has caused everyone hanging around this area to be on their toes.
