The brave Men of Gondor have long-endured the constant strikes and blows that Sauron and the Forces of Mordor throw at them, but it always Osgiliath, the very heart of Gondor, at which they are struck. Therefore it is here that the Steward Denethor II, at the bidding of his sons Boromir and Faramir (though the former more than the latter), has ordered all of Minas Tirith's spare forces to converge, ready to resist any attempt by the Enemy to attack Gondor by crossing the Anduin.

Sadly, the Gondorian Garrison at Osgiliath, despite taking several months to assemble, equip and dispatch, has nowhere near adequate numbers to cope, even with the added assistance of the Rangers of Ithilien. Even as reports of Orcs gathering in huge numbers across the Anduin, possibly preparing for some sort of raid on the eastern half of the city, the captains of Osgiliath's defenders draw up plans on what their next move will be......

-----Characters for this Scene-------

Forces of Gondor
Faramir, Captain of the Gondorian Forces at Osgiliath (taken)
Madril, Captain of the Ithilien Rangers (taken)
Any other Gondorian captains or soldiers that might have a place at the Osgiliath Garrison
Anybody else (Hobbit, Elf, Dwarf etc) who can think up a plausible reason for them being there (envoy, scout, reinforcements etc)

Forces of Mordor
Khamul, Shadow of the East (taken)
Ringwraiths (optional)
Any number of Orc/Southron/Easterling players who wish to take part.
Anybody else who can think up a plausible reason for them being there (envoy, scout, reinforcements etc)

-----The Scene Itself------

The scene itself is in fact a sort of two-in-one scene. On the western side of the River Anduin, The Gondorian forces are gathering and making plans on what to do with the new information of the large Orc build-up in Mordor and the gathering of Southrons and Easterlings, whilst on the eastern side of the Anduin, the Orcs and other forces of Sauron beginning to agree on how best to conquer the western, enemy-controlled, half of the ruined city.

-------Scene Description---------

Osgiliath has become a huge pile of building-shells and ruins. It is barely recognisable as it once was, for there are no paved roads, wonderful statues or grand buildings anymore. Instead, there are pathways of rubble, statue-bases smothered in the remains of nearby collapsed buildings and piles of stone that the Gondorians and Orcs have organised into forms of cover from attacks from the opposite side of the River.
It seems like an impossible maze to navigate, but the Men of Gondor and the Orcs of Mordor have managed to dig out and remember pathways throughout their different halves of the city respectively, with both sides having at least two pathways cleared for access to the Great Bridges of Osgiliath, which lay collapsed, their stone in piles at the bottom of the River, some even piling so high they poke out the water surface slightly.

Should people show interest in this, then I have permission to add on a further scene, should we find ourselves with an oppurtunity to do so, and so on.

Okay excellent grin.gif

It'll be good to get some Orc players too, because I'm really interested in making it a Roleplay of 'two points of view', so any Evil characters are just as welcome as Good ones grin.gif

I'm here men of the West. Khamul the vile. May the great eye know victory and may I walk your nightmares. BWAHAHAHA!

My bio:

Khamul The Ringwraith

Age 5000 approximately

Sex: Male

Race: When alive Human now a Nazgul or Ringwraith

Height 6'2"

Khamul also called The Shadow of the East, is the second in command to the Witch King, Angmar and is currently in command of the Orc forces of Dol Guldur. As a Ringwraith he has no corpreal form and is always enshrouded in a vast black cloak and armor. He is ruthless and utterly evil. His misson is to conquer Osgilliath and crush the resistance of the Dunedain.

Is anyone else interested in this roleplay? The board seems to be strangely silent lately.

Faramir, are you there now? Its been 10 days since your post. Being a key character along with Madril you will be required to generate the direction of the roleplay and post without awaiting others to give you an opportunity.

How is school doing now?

Madril - if you create the In Character (IC) thread in a 'new topic' post you can set up the scene now, this will give the others time to "move in" to the roleplay.

Great! grin.gif Nice avatar also!

Now with that account, please put your biography in the biography section. This roleplay seems to be on its way soon. We need Faramir to create an account too.

Faramir (Hérion) please, if you will not be active daily, I suggest you become a lesser character. Faramir will have to be a driving force in this roleplay, otherwise it will die. What does your time allotment look like? Will you have the time and desire to do right by this roleplay or not? You will also need a biography before this starts out.

Where are our orcs? *bangs a pan loudly* ORCS? YOOHOO! Show yourselves!

Umm...as I was told in the "Welcome!" topic, I could take the role of Faramir? But if you return soon Herion, I will give up the part for this particular roleplay.

Ok we seem to have enough roleplayers to start this scene out.

Madril
Berethor
Faramir
Varguk
Maybe Bargash would create a new orc character? grin.gif

Remember to use lots of NPC's in your posts to make it more rich in the telling. Since we only have one orc so far, kill off lots of NPC yrch then. 00000032.gif

Please post in this thread now if you are awake and ready to post in the in character thread to let us know thats the case.
