I'm here and ready to start.

By saying to use lots of NPC's, do you mean I should play Faramir's men aswell? And I am free to write about killing orcs as I like as long as it is not a significant roleplay character?

Exactly!

We have found if you stick with just your character you are dependent on others too much and the story turns into what I call a "tea party". By adding other characters with dialogue and names to your character's post it creates a much more colorful story and makes it enjoyable to read. It still has to blend in and be believable. That's why we have the OOC thread, to discuss ideas before they get posted. grin.gif

You can see an example here in one of my own posts. I used NPC's in the army to make it seem more realistic. I used my horse and several other elves (some recognizable from a prior roleplay) to make a longer and more interesting post. When you do this you need to keep track of your created NPC characters, I have a file of all my characters with their names and positions and even a short description, it helps a LOT and keeps you consistent! An extra bonus is - its a lot of fun too. 00000021.gif

I see I will have to send another email to Madril, man of Gondor... Please await his return and if I can't get him to answer we can start this without him I suppose if the others wish to do so.

Madril is not answering his email so I suppose those of you who are interested in this can continue without him, though it was his idea to begin it as a scene roleplay.

Who now wants to continue? Who would be willing to lead it? (I will not be involved but will moderate if need be.)

I'm more than willing to go ahead with this roleplay, and would be perfectly happy to lead it if I knew a bit more about this site......although I don't so I'm gonna have to say no to the leading part.

Well Madril must be on a really LONG vacation 00000025.gif So, how about we put this in the Halls of Mandos for now and maybe resurrect it when he returns, if he does. It's a good idea and I know roleplayers would enjoy a 4th age roleplay but my interest lies in Silmarillion side roleplay actually and I am too involved in other roles to start a new one.

I do suggest you might want to create another character to join in the active roleplays for now, that is if you are not already in one (I lose track of who plays what character blush_tweetz.gif )

The Ascendancy of Evil just started two months ago and is a good one to get involved in as either an orc, elf, dwarf or man.

Hmm...July 5th was rather a while ago, but this sounds like a pretty good Roleplay to me, and I'm pretty kean to go ahead with it. Anyone with me?

Ok, I have placed the roleplay in the active scene roleplay forum and I have set the scene rather than wait for anyone else so you can get started on your first post. Make sure to use NPCs in your posts to make the story more rounded out. Have fun.

Edit 3/9/07: At the time this post was made there was an interest in opening it up for roleplay so I will give it another couple weeks to get active before I stick it back in the dust bin. Someone needs to start out the first post!
