Here we will put our ideas for future posts under Hall of Fire.

--------------------
Glorfindel was tall and straight; his hair was of shining gold, his face fair and young and fearless and full of joy; his eyes were bright and keen, and his voice like music; on his brow sat wisdom, and in his hand was strength.

Hey, guys, it'd be good if somebody posted that they'd quickly summarized events to the hobbits before I come back from the kitchen. Then we can pick up from there....

Ok, I have posted rather than Elrond, cause I am working in several programs now and unable to open another window. Elrond will speak in an hour or two blink.gif uh... maybe.

If we still want to go with the idea of the evil emanating from/being drawn to Frodo, it might be nice if someone sensed that about him from being in his presence. Frodo and Bilbo sense it, of course, but it'll have more credibility if someone else realizes it on their own.

Le hannon, elf-person.

(It's strange how many variations of "hobbit" I've been called...Hobbit, Hobbitness, Hobbitlikeone, Hobbit person...and even Shire rat, lol.)

Mae govannen, perian daer!

I will be arriving at home in about half an hour or so. If you would like, get hold of Glorfindel and meet me in the Palace in about 45 minutes, and we can try to plan the next section a bit....

Well, ya know, here I've gone and spilled my guts to Frodo in the kitchen, with Glor likely eavesdropping, and nobody says word one.

That is CRUEL mean, folkses. tongue.gif

The latest HOF post is very well written, very good roleplay, very effective and well done.

The thing is, this "plot bunny" of transferring the evil revolves around how we interpret the character of Frodo. My understanding was that because of the prophecy, we needed to find a source of evil, and the only source around was Frodo's morgul wound and the after effects of the Ring. I wasn't aware until recently of the idea of a piece of the Ring being left in Frodo, or a piece of Sauron, demon-like, possessing him; this is different from Frodo's spiritual wounds from the Ring and the morgul poison. It IS more than Tolkien wrote, but my understanding was that we were going to go with Tolkien's version. I might have warmed up to the other interpretation through discussing it; I probably will now, since it's working well. But it is a change in the interpretation of Frodo, that was decided and carried out without me, and Frodo is my character! I would like to have the final word on interpretations of Frodo.

The other thing is that Frodo would never allow Eldirn to go through with her plan if he could help it! He took the risk of evil and death with the Ring; he is still willing to sacrifice himself in this cause. As it now stands he's being very selfish in allowing her to be suidical, and to take the evil that he voluntarily took on into herself. I know I've taken longer than usual to post, but it hasn't been THAT long, only about two days, and I wasn't warned that I would forfeit my chance for Frodo to react to Eldirn's plan.

I know that this attempt at the transfer of evil is essential to others' plot bunnies. I had come up with a way for it to take place without Frodo's consent. He's just travelled from the Shire and stayed up all night--he's very tired, so it could happen while he's asleep. Or I could have him take a turn for the worse and be unconscious. I was going to express these ideas the next time I came to Middle Earth Palace.

I would just really like to have more planning, and more of a role in it, about plot events that involve my character so much. I'm going to go along with the plot as it is now. Despite the communication hitches, the actual roleplay is very good, and Frodo isn't shown as actually consenting to the healing attempt. I'm just talking about future planning.

Okay everybody. My character is gone, out of the way, with nothing changed from what it was before. Hob, you can take Frodo and go on as you were going. Eldirn is headed with all speed toward Mordor.

I'm sorry I threw a monkey-wrench into things.

Why??? All I said was that I would like more of a hand in planning for my character! You didn't throw a monkey wrench into things, it's just a misunderstanding/disagreement, doesn't mean it's a horrible thing! Your roleplay is very good, as I said before, and nobody wants to lose it! I was just asking for more communication. Nobody is trying to get you to leave!

Additional Roleplay ideas now that Eldirn is in her secret observatory: Glorfindel is where he planned to meet Elrond; Ara is helping Glorfindel search for Elrond; Frodo is in Eldirn's bed recovering from the ordeal he went through with Eldirn; Celebrian (because she is having major computer troubles) is in Elrond's room sleeping.

My ideas are:
Frodo discusses his real problems with Bilbo instead of hiding them from him. They wait for Elrond's return to the room.

Elrond tries to heal Eldirn's concussion and meanwhile tackles the misconception she has as well as the love she feels for him.
Suggestion: If the one ring is destroyed Vilya is no longer effective. Maybe we can use this to lessen the love Eldirn feels for Elrond and eventually make it easier for her to accept her need to go west.

Glorfindel backtracks to find where Elrond is and Ara uses her sense of knowing where her father is to help in the search.

The twins are just there for color and as part of Elrond's family.

--------------------
Glorfindel was tall and straight; his hair was of shining gold, his face fair and young and fearless and full of joy; his eyes were bright and keen, and his voice like music; on his brow sat wisdom, and in his hand was strength.
