 Edhans Wake, Ghosts from Edheldaes Past

Neath towers down where willows weep, Lakelands still, save the oarsman’s sweep. By island hawthorn, tiled halls. Creeps eld memory, chained thralls. They come calling, waiting. Noises growing, reaching. The skiff skims through misty moonlight. Somber man, tiller clutching tight. Where once kinsmen, kennels and mews, Now briared grave where the worm chews. Minds eye, remembering. Long years ago, leaving. The mind holds all, vision and voice. Echoes fail, silent by his choice. Twilight fills his soul, crossing beyond. The boats wake ripples, visages gone. Current pulling, drawing. Man’s heart rending, fading.
