Welcome to Between The Darkness

This roleplay has one rule...ok...so it has a lot of rules when you think about it. You may do whatever you want as long as it doesn't go against the rules given by the admins. I write this because on the roleplay rules thing, they took all my ideas for rules.

Plot:
Between the Darkness takes place in a whole different dimension, known as Between the Darkness. It's a world trapped in a war between Darkness and Light, but is currently run by the powerful race of Dark Angels. Everyone is under their law and only those fighting in the Light Army ignore their rules. No one outside of the Army's reach dares fight back against the Dark Angels, that's just the way it's always been. The Dark Angel's made an example of the last group to fight back without the Light Army on their side. A group of Dark Angel children, who did not like the stupid laws the world was placed under, worked in secret on learning Light instead of Dark Magic. That was a big mistake. The minute they were found out, each child received a special and unique punishment. Even the Dark Angel ruler's sons were locked away and punished severely.
The world is dark...but maybe things will change someday...

Map Without the Pictures:
There are five main regions in Between the Darkness.

Western- The Western Region is devoted to Magic Studies that are not based on Light or Dark. This part of the world is more diverse then any other part of the world. All the races get along and stand together to help the Light Army. In fact, their base in the Western Region. For this main reason, the Western Region's biggest cities are often under attack. The main places you need to know here are:

-Rendrearc (Capitol City) is under strict military surveillance.
-The Nruteron River begins on it's coast as clean water.
-Valley Frer is a large, beautiful valley to the northern part of the Western Region. It is found in the center of the mountains that create a barrier between the North-West and the Northern Region. This valley is where the Light Army Base is located.
-Sariserc is a city taken by the Dark Army close to Rendrearc.

There, of course, are other parts to this place, but they are not as main as these places and probably won't be used often. These cities will remain unnamed.


Eastern- The Eastern Region is fifty-nine percent Forest and thirty-nine percent plains. The most important cities are located in the Magical Forest, because there is a separate war of racism between the East and the South. The East is home to countless Elves, whereas the South is home to countless Humans. The Human Race started a war of hate against the Elves simply because the Elves have a richer, smarter society then most areas of the world.
These are the most important places found here:

Golden Lake- Literally a golden lake. Be forewarned, though, people who get too close to it are over taken by a mermaid song which entices the one who came too close to come closer, until the mermaids lunge out and drag them under water until they die. Then they feast on their body.
Remoria- The Capitol City of the Elves.
Ilforia- A small village in the center of the forest.

Again...there are more.

Southern- The Southern Region is predominately Human and hardly anyone else lives there...and if they do live there, they live in fear of being killed.
Important places:

Forestor- The Capitol City and one of the most widely known cities in favor of Dark Angel rule simply because it pays well to Humanity and dislikes Minorities, such as Dwarves, Elves and so on.
The Mirror Forest starts in the northern part of the Southern Region. It is a forest filled with mirrors leading to other worlds and places in the trees. Demons lurk through the forest, Demons, Dark Angels and other Dark and evil creatures. Mostly they wander here so they can spy on enemies through the mirrors. All other people are afraid to enter for fear of an untimely and bloody death or capture.

Um...again...more are there...

Northern- The Northern Region is predominately Bird-Human types and Dwarves. It's a snowy land that's too cold for most people, which is why they picked here to hide out from Humans. There are no cities or towns or real places to know. The mountains are called the Flaeth and the people who live in them dig holes and caves to live in.

Central- This is the root of all evil. Mostly Demons and Dark Angels live here, but some other races will move here if they swear themselves into the Dark Army.
Important Places:

Obsidian City- The Capitol City and the Base for the Dark Army. Obsidian Castle is the main attraction here, for this is where all the Dark Angels live, for the Castle is big enough for them all.
Nruteron Valley- A dead valley that is historical in that it was the first battle between the Light and Dark Army. There were so many deaths near the river, that the water has been called impure. There are still remains of the dead preserved in the unclean almost blood like water. Everything here is dead. Nothing has grown here in thousands of millions of years. It's the first site you will see emerging north of the Mirror Forest.

There are Four Islands in Between the Darkness.

Ruby Island- An Island that is known to be the source of one of the Mythical Swords of Power. Only someone chosen by the sword's creator's creation, B.O.M.B., may wield it. The person who gets this sword must pass the tests given by B.O.M.B. It goes the same way on all the Islands. Ruby, the first sword created, can only be wielded by a person of great bravery, a hero, who would sacrifice anything for the safety of others...This sword grants a special gift only to be revealed when the wielder shows an act of true passion and bravery.
Sapphire Island- Same idea as Ruby Island. Sapphire, the second sword created, can only be wielded by someone who is truly evil and would do anything to benefit their own needs. This Sword grants the power of mind control and mind reading.
Diamond Island- Same idea as the other two Islands. Diamond, the third sword created, can only be wielded by someone who is truly pure, inside and out. Only someone who works for non violence can wield it. Diamond grants the gift of stopping time around one person long enough for the wielder to talk sense into them. This would be used to stop a fight from happening.
Red Island- When someone is chosen by B.O.M.B., they are sent here, to the home of the creature. Only one of the wielders of the Three Swords of Power may go here.

What is B.O.M.B.? It stands for Book of Many Books. Basically, he's a book in a living body. He is considered to be quite wise among all the lands, but truly, when and if you meet him, you might be a bit disappointed. He's not THAT wise at all. His only source of wisdom is that he is a good judge of character. The reason behind his name is that he is ageless, like a book...that and he reads a lot...which is a bit shocking, you will understand why when and if you meet him. But, basically, everyone thinks he is the key to the end of the war...not so.

This is a lot of information, I know.
But, we are now nearing the end...

All right, now the outside of roleplay information. I'm going to make a board on general that is going to contain all the character profiles for this roleplay, because one of my pet peeves is when people join late and post in the middle of the roleplay. It annoys me. It's just one of those things. But, before you jump into the roleplay, send me a pm so that I may check your profile and see that everything is in line.

You may have as many characters as you want, but only up to fifteen main characters that you will use often. If your character is minor, please say so. Characters like B.O.M.B. for me will be minor, considering he never leaves his island home and the only time I'll get to use him is in communication with the Three Chosen Ones. I would prefer the people who want to be one of the Three Chosen Ones to use a main character when attempting to retrieve a Sword of Power. They are a major part of the story, because everyone wants one of the swords, but most people are afraid to go, for people who have gone usually fail and it's hard to get to the Islands and also, those who have taken the tests complain that they were very trying on their minds, souls and bodies.
