It takes place two years after the Kid Buu is defeated. Vegeta's (extremely short) younger brother appears and asks his elder brother to help save him and his wife from Abo (or Avo) and Kado, two of Freeza's former soldiers that have taken over what was Freeza's empire and are seemilgly stronger than Freeza.

Naturally, this means everyone, even Master Roshi, wants to be the first to kick their asses as they arrive on Earth.

Goten and Trunks are given the go.

...Were it not for the wife thing, I would complain about the addition of another pure-saiyan. Toriyama shouldn't keep adding more after killing all but four...but I suppose he could have deserted Frieza's empire earlier on to be with his wife or something.
