I heard from portent that dwarves are the new kids on the block (in english: the next to be updated) I can't go on portent anymore, so I thought that maybe we could pool all the new dwarf information from portent in this topic maybe. Someone told me they will have a total revamp! everything except the gyrocopter, seems doubtful, but possible.
So, what have you guys heard?

I have heard

A new model range out for christmas
A battle of maccragge(pah, screw 40K names) style box set featuring Dwarves and Goblins/Skaven
Many new plastic. A plastic box that can be thunderers/crossbowmen
A plastic box for ironbreakers
A "Sheild Wall". Some kind of defensive formation
A new warmachine
Skirmishing Slayers

thats what I have heard, however skirmishing slayers and plastic ironbreakers seems unlikely

I've heard a whole bunch of gaff, most of which Hummer already said.

The shield wall is just this thing that GW made up for a Skaven piece of engineering (Jezzail firing platform), and they made conversions for other races too including Dwarfs.
I think some guy was hoping that this mobile firing platform would become a new feature in the new book, I doubt it.

anyway, one thing that everyone seems to think is that there will be a whole bunch of plastics, launched by the Macragge-ish set.

This is from Gav himself at the necronomicon tournament in florida, as handed down from a member there who played against him. Dwarfs are getting a redo. However they will for the most part remain the same. The chief concerns are to make some units cheaper to make them more viable, tone up or down certain other units and perhaps introduce a new warmachine/unit. It will not be a very big redo like the wood elves or even BoC, but will make the dwarves have new options and make some styles of play with them more viable.

Oh there will be plenty of new models, although thats a prediction not a rumour. The current dwarf range is horrible, 10 handgunners cost 40 bucks, the plastic warriors are horrible, and everything besides them is metal and expensive. I just dont think we will be seeing too many more units.

I honestly don't know. I really am not the person to turn to about this, all i know is some 2nd hand info from a guy on the herdstone who played against Gav in a tournie. That and knowing that with a new book usually models are redone, and the dwarves have some of the most expensive and bad looking models out there.

There are some things that you lads missed though ...

The Anvil of Doom will be given more powerful spells and basically more worth it.

Thorgrim Grudgebearer will be a new special character and will be atop the throne of power. And will look much better than the crummy old model.

Longbeards will have the grumble special rule that lets all units within 6" re-roll their psychology tests.

Our runes will be tampered with and I really don't know what to expect.

Our war-machines will be improved so we can actually play like we invented black powder weapons.

The army as a whole will be more versatile and won't have to sit back and shoot but offer more posabilities.
