Its been a year and a half since Lillith started breaking the seals to set Lucifer free, she had fifteen left to break before her goal was accomplished and Hell was set loose on Earth, but between Sam and Dean Winchester they stopped her with only five seals left to go and sent her packing straight back to Hell with a note to her boss to keep his ugly ass right where it belongs. Things have calmed down somewhat since, there's still your average low level demons left to be vanquished, ghosts and other creatures that need to be hunted so that innocents can be saved, and the angels are still around; unable to believe it was that easy to kill Lillith and make sure that Hell does not break free from its fiery prison. What everyone doesn't know is that the angels are right, for as quiet and "normal" as things might seem now, a whole new evil is brewing in the shadows and has its goal set to finish what Lillith started...
