Bulky Water Wisher

- Protect / Hidden Power [Electric]

This is pretty much a basic Bulky Water set. Surf is your standard STAB move, and works well against the likes of Tyranitar, Rhyperior and pretty much any fire type. Ice Beam is here for Dragon types such as Salamence, Garchomp, and Dragonite. Wish is an excellent move both for healing yourself and supporting your team. When wish is coupled with protect, you form a sort of make shift Recover-type move. However, you may want to use Hidden Power [Electric] if your team lacks a Gyarados counter. With Water Absorb and her massive HP, Vaporeon is one of the best Gyarados counters out there.


Baton Passer

Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam / Wish
- Substitute / Acid Armor
- Baton Pass

Like every single "eeveelution" before him, Vaporeon can, of course, baton pass effectively. The substitutes passed by Vaporeon are simply MASSIVE, thanks to his base 130 HP stat. If you'd rather pass Defense boosts, go ahead and use Acid Armor. Ice Beam is there for, again, Dragons and Grass Types, but if you'd like to use Wish, for even more support, feel free to.

Other Options:
Toxic is an option to wear down other Water types.
Roar, Yawn, and Haze can all be used for (p)hazing.
Charm helps Vaporeon take hits even easier.

EVs / Nature: The EVs given let you maximize your defenses while still letting you OHKO Garchomp with Ice Beam.

Counters: Most defensive Grass types will be able to take Vaporeon down (especially Ludicolo).
Starmie does an excellent job also, resisting both Surf and Ice Beam, while it can just Thunderbolt you into oblivion.
Gardevoir and Porygon2 trace Water Absorb, and then just Thunderbolt you until you die.
Watch out for Gyarados if you lack HP [Electric]
Watch out for Azumarill also, as it'll just set up a Substitute on you and Focus Punch you until you die.

Opinion: An excellent choice for a Bulky Water.
