Just purchased a ticket for French Kicks on the 24th. happy.gif

EDIT: Just noticed there's an epic pairing of Ladytron and The Faint in late April! ohmy.gif
Have already seen both separately.

Wooo.

No Doubt and Paramore are touring together!

...I swear, I'm not a 14 year old girl.

If I had a fortune to spend, I'd so go to Coachella. Check out the lineup!

I'd go mainly for Crystal Castles, Franz Ferdinand, and We Are Scientists on Friday, Gang Gang Dance and TV On The Radio for Saturday, and The Cure and Throbbing Gristle for Sunday. But I'd check out a bunch of other bands out of curiosity as well. FUUUUUUUU...we got a good lineup of bands and artists, too.

Oh well. I did purchase a ticket to see Metric in June. smile.gif
I may see Camera Obscura in June as well.
If it's not sold out already, I may check out Ladytron/The Faint later this month, I've already seen both live.
Bloc Party is playing tonight...this is my third chance to see them, but I'm obviously not at the show. sleep.gif Oh well, no biggie.

No way I'm missing Metric, though, they were a blast in 2005.

I'm tempted to shell money out for the "Music as a Weapon" tour, but I'll have to research it more first.

The Faint and Ladytron were awesome. Unfortunately we ended up missing half of Ladytron's set as the show started a little earlier than we anticipated. sleep.gif Plus, my ticket was for the balcony and they actually started checking for this stuff (they didn't before!) so I was stuck in the balcony while my friends were on the floor. Luckily, my friend snuck me in the floor in time to see The Faint. biggrin.gif Got a little tipsy and we got in a little dance pit to some of their songs. I was sweaty and someone spilled something down my back.

Ahhhh, I'm so grateful I get to experience the music of my youth while I'm, you know, young-ish.

So I've seen Metric and Camera Obscura since my last post here. And tonight, I saw Gang Gang Dance. I was debating whether to go or not, but I'm glad I saw them...I needed this night. biggrin.gif Everyone had fun dancing/swaying to the music. These girls were blowing bubbles, the lead singer wore a Michael Jackson memorial t-shirt, and some chick practically humped my leg grind dancing, lol.

I'm going to see blink-182, Taking Back Sunday, and Weezer next week. I couldn't ask for a better lineup.

I'm also going to see Streetlight Manifesto for the third time on September 28th, and Brand New on October 2nd. Holy shit that's going to be a good weekend.

Franz Ferdinand played this weekend, should've checked them out.

QUOTE
After ninety minutes the entire crowd was soaked in sweat from grooving to their undeniable hits including "Take Me Out," "Do You Want to?" and "This Fire." "This Fire" actually won for unrealized awkward moment of the night. There is something so wrong about having a crowd of people singing "This fire is out of control. Gonna burn this city. Burn this city," with forest fires raging so close.

lulz

The Faint also played on Sunday, but I've already seen them like three times before, and I don't like 'em as much as some bands which I've only seen once (though now I've seen both Metric and Ladytron twice biggrin.gif ).

Oh damn, Metric are opening for Phoenix at the Greek Theatre on Wednesday. Wish I had known about it earlier. Oh well.

I do plan on seeing Brazilian Girls in October and Broadcast in November. smile.gif

Hooray for Live Nation, I was able to purchase my ticket to see Brazilian Girls for only $10, as part of their 'No Service Fee Wednesday' deal. biggrin.gif

I'll most likely end up scalping this ticket for a profit. tongue.gif

Anyway, Craigslist saved the day night! I wanted to see Atlas Sound/Broadcast yesterday, but I snoozed on getting the ticket and the show sold out. I was pretty bummed. Kept checking Craigslist and got lucky at the last minute, someone sold me his ticket Wednesday afternoon. And I had a blast seeing both bands, though I was there more for Broadcast.

I walked past Bradford Cox (Atlas Sound lead singer) outside the venue, did a double take and noticed he was sitting on the sidewalk chatting with someone else, smoking a cigarette. I said a dumbfounded "heeeeyyyy." Their set was a more conventional indie rock show, Cox cracked a few jokes and all.

The Broadcast set was a real mindfuck. Broadcast are known for playing pop-y 60s-influenced songs, but also have an experimental bent. And their latest release leans toward the latter. It almost sounds like early industrial music. They played this stuff while all these strange images and scenes were projected behind them. They also played some of their well-known poppier stuff.
