Gah, I keep telling myself I'm over American politics and I haven't even watched a full episode of Olbermann (bless him) in two weeks, but you can't escape it and this merits some comment.

Anyway, Obama won the Nobel Prize. "What the fuck?" was my first reaction. I'm an Obama fan like the next person, but isn't this too soon? What has he actually done to merit the award besides not being the huge fuckup that Bush was? I'm all for Obama being honored and it's a big fuck you to all the right-wing loons in this country. At the same time, it kinda cheapens the whole thing.

I'm very sorry about my own thread on this in the other forum. I should have payed more attention.

I think it's kind of soon. I mean he was just handed the award on a silver platter. Promises for the future aren't enough. We need to see lots of action before handing the award off. Also they rushed it.
