My friend has been praying for her dad ever since her parents got divorced about 5 years ago. She said that that was when she really realized that her dad was not a Christian and that he would be going to hell if he didn't become one. So she prayed for him every day for 5 years. About 3 weeks ago, her dad got really sick and had to go to the hospital. Something that had almost killed him 8 years earlier had flared back up. Because she had been praying for so long and her dad had not become a Christian, she was beginning to get discouraged. She was also a little nervous about confronting him with the gospel. But when her dad got sick, she realized that she needed to talk with him about it. She asked God to strengthen her while she talked with him about it. Some other friends and I were also praying for her. So she talked to her dad about Christ. After talking, her dad confessed that he really needed Jesus and that life without God just wasn't any good. He's even started going to church with her.

So don't give up praying for someone just because nothing has happened in years.

That's a real powerful story considering a child is bringing an adult under the light of God. Give her a pat on the back for all of us.
