If there was anything Selena noticed about this boy, it was that he was observant. She could easily sense his gaze on her - her abilities allowed her as much, even if she wasn't intent on absorbing anyone's aura. Perhaps he had known something about her? Selena would not have been surprised if that was the case. In the year she was to graduate, her father was made headmaster, and she conveniently stayed on an extra year, before helping out with the miscellany within the Academy for almost a decade. It was mostly mundane work - only relieved by brief travels whenever they had to locate particular students or the like - but perhaps, they did prepare her for all the liaising she had to do with the Ministry. Not wishing to dwell on those thoughts, she directed her attention to his question instead.

"No, in your case, it has been decided that you may be exempt from the first year. As for classes, late enrolment may disadvantage you in grades, but if that does not bother you, you may speak to the relevant professors and they may accept you into their classes."

Though she was headmistress, Selena felt that the individual professors deserved a certain autonomy where classes were concerned. While she would not mind an extra student, she would rather not presume the others would share her opinions.

Judah couldn't help but feel an extreme sensation of content and happiness as he listened the Headmistress answer to his questions. Judah rarely felt this way. Life, after all, hadn't smiled much to him during his small existence. But things were changing. A small smile passed by his lips, and he spoke again, his tone revealing the way he felt. Those are excellent news, Professor. Thank you. Disadvantage in his grades. Did he care? Certainly not. Actually I'm only interested in one class. The one related to the Sylvan ways... Which is your class. Truth was that he would feel rather awkward in attending other classes. He wasn't used to such thing. Lory had taught him everything he knew. School was, still, a strange universe for him. But he would certainly feel comfortable in a class related to his nature.

Selena noticed the boy's smile and eased a little; she hadn't noticed she had been holding her breath for a moment. As he expressed his interest in joining the Sylvan class, she nodded and her eyes softened into a smile.

"Then consider yourself enroled. Feel free to join us for lessons."

This all only reminded Selena of what she had set out to ascertain: just how many students were interested in proper training and understanding of their nature. The last thing she wanted to do was lead a rebellion, but what with the last trimester virtually wasted on everything non-Sylvan, even she was itching to do something. Children came here to be educated and they ought to be. It was just a matter of deciding who of them could be trusted not to betray any plans to the Ministry.

Judah tensed for a moment, while he waited for the answer. He put his hands on his pockets again, and gladly noticed that the Headmistress nodded. Thank you. This short answer was filled with gratitude. Again, gratitude was something he rarely felt. Well, he would feel it for his mother till the end of his life, but Lory was Lory and no one was compared to her. But Judah knew how to value the right persons, and wasn't afraid of showing it.

I won't take more of your time, Professor. Judah gave a polite nod, and walked to the door, excited with these new events.

jackie walked in and said 'hi this is where we get sorted right?' she sat down and waited.

It was morning and having no classes, Selena stayed in her office, and found out it had been a good idea. As she saw a new face entering, she smiled warmly. This girl seemed pleasant enough and nodding at her, Selena passed her a blank questionnaire.

"Yes, and you could take a moment to fill this in."

Finding a pen, she passed it to the girl as well, then, motioning to the plate of cookies she had found in the kitchen, she offered them to her.

"Help yourselves to the cookies. I'm sure you could have some even if you've had breakfast."
