So, yesterday I decide to buy myself a ring for my nose as a reward for the essay being submitted on time. I was under the impression that my nose was completely healed and that I was ready to change the piercing from stud to ring. After an hour or so of fiddling and faffing around I managed to remove the stud. However, this is where the trouble came. Apparently there was an infection just around the hole, so by removing the stud I agitated it and the hole disappeared and it began to bleed and weep, as did I when I saw what had happened. I started really panicking and was really quite distraught as I desperately tried to find the hole and to put anything through it for the time being. Unfortunately due to the unusual shape of the stud back I couldn't put it back in, nor could I get the ring through. Much flapping ensued. Eventually I manged to get the ring through the hole after about an hour trying. To add insult to injury the ring I bought appears to be slightly too large and after 14 or so hours of trying I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to get the ball into the ring. Until I can get a ring with a better kind of fixing I am just going to have walk around with an infected nose with an incomplete ring that is too big.

Don't get it done peoples. Tis quite distressing for a child such as myself.

I said you should have had it done at Shamanics...The balls are usually quite hard to get in - have you tried pulling the ring apart slightly to make the gap bigger to get the whole in? and then pushing it together round the hole?

I want my nose done. Bad.

Poor lizzie, though

I shall give you much loves! *huggage*

You should have phoned me and I would have made conmforting noises down the phone.

*big lizzie hugs!*

Thank ye sweetie. But I am thinking I might get a different ring for it anyway. I want to get one with a different fixing. I didn't really want one with a ball on it anyway. I wanted one of them hinged ones, but they don't sell them in mixtures anymore.

My mum has a nose piercing and she managed to get some pretty comfy studs, I can see what she has to say about it if you like?

Ok I spoke to her. She currently has a hooked shaped one that I think she got in Rayleigh. If your nose hasn't fully healed, she warns it will be agony to change. She has also used androlock (no idea how to spell it) ones, they are the ones with hinges, but she wouldnt recommend them. If you do want one I can try to get some from Rayleigh Lanes for you if you like.

She also wants to know where you get the ones with the screw-on balls from? Shes been looking everywhere for some.

Hope that helps, let me know if you want any.

dancingbanana.gif I MANAGED TO GET THE FRICKIN' BALL IN!!! dancingbanana.gif

And it only took 8 days too (!). Maybe I don't need to get a new one. I noticed that Blaine (MJs) too has one with a ball but the ball is on the inside which I have managed to do too and now my nose ring is complete and like a normal ring. Whoopee! It was one of those rings where you have to click the ball into place and so it was pretty tricky. I am so relieved to have finally managed it.

So just when I thought all was well nose-wise... It only gets bloody infected every few days. I keep cleaning it and then when it appears to be just about healed up I wake up the next morning to find that it is not. angry.gif
Hopefully it will heal completely soon.
