Here is an article previewing Saturday's final between Al Ittihad and Pohang Steelers:

http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news?slug=reu-...uters&type=lgns

This will be the first season Asia will be holding a one game, neutral venue final as previously this competition's final was conducted on a home and away basis.

According to the preview article, not only did Al Ittihad beat nagoya 6-2 on aggregate in the semifinals, they also won 4-0 over pakhator tashkent in the quarters so they are on good goalscoring form and offensively are led by Tunisian Amine Chermiti and Moroccan Hicham Aboucherouane. With Saudi Arabia out of next year's World Cup, this Asian championship and the World Club Cup spot which will go to the winne ris an opportunity for saudi soccer to remain in the spotlight.

Pohang, like Al Ittihad, are going for their 3rd Asian club championship and they are led by Brazilian forward denilson, I checked and no this is not the 2002 World Cup winger, but another player with that name (and not the Arsenal defensive midfielder also with that moniker!)

Don't forget, but the Mundial de Clubes in Dubai.

Pohang Steelers won the Asian Champions League with a 2-1 victory over Al Ittihad.

A scoreless first half was turned around in the 2nd with 2 Pohang goals off of free kicks, one directly put in by Noh Byung Jun then a header by Kim Hyung-il from a Kim Jae-sung free kick. Al Ittihad's captain Mohammed Noor scored off a rebound to make the last 15 minutes interesting but the Korean club hung on for the win.
