Did they ever leve it late, 3rd minute of injury time when Obinna Nsofor headed in a short cross after Mozambique's goalie parried a Obafemi Martins shot. Tunisia also won 1-0 but their goal happened in the first minute, not the last like Nigeria's! Prior to that late goal, Nigeria were on the verge of World Cup elimination. Tunisia remain 2 points up with one game remaining.

Nigeria looked like they were through before that late goal. I want to know why Amodu rested Martins and Nsofor yet played all those defensive midfielders and a forward, Yakubu, who is still not in game form. Yet it was Martins and Nsofor who rescued the Super Eagles. Now Mozambique might be able to help Nigeria out when they host Tunisia next month, a Mozambique win there combined with a Nigeria win sends the Eagles to South Africa. But they'll need to play with more vigor than they showed on Sunday versus Mozambique.

Nigeria have called up this group of players for the decisive match versus Kenya:

Goalkeepers: Vincent Enyeama (Hapoel Tel Aviv/ISR), Greg Etafia (Moroka Swallows/RSA), Dele Aiyenugba (Bnei-Yehuda/ISR)

Defenders: Onyekachi Apam (Nice/FRA), Elderson Echiejile (Rennes/FRA), Chidi Odiah (CSKA Moscow/RUS), Taye Taiwo (Marseille/FRA), Joseph Yobo (Everton/ENG), Obinna Nwaneri (FC Sion/SUI), Danny Shittu (Bolton/ENG), Dele Adeleye (Sparta Rotterdam/NED)

Midfielders: John Mikel Obi (Chelsea/ENG), Seyi Olofinjana (Hull City/ENG), Yusuf Ayila (Dynamo Kiev/UKR), Sani Kaita (Locomotiv Moscow/RUS), Oluwafemi Ajilore (Groningen/NED)

Strikers: Obafemi Martins (Wolfsburg/GER), Osaze Odemwingie (Locomotiv Moscow/RUS), Nwankwo Kanu (Portsmouth/ENG), Yakubu Aiyegbeni (Everton/ENG), Michael Eneramo (Esperance/TUN), Victor Obinna (Malaga/SPA), Joseph Akpala (Club Brugge/BEL)

John Mikel Obi is geting near fit but it is still a bit of a risk selecting him when he has not played in a month. Both Obi and Chidi Odiah are the players added for this game who were not on the roster to face Mozambique in October. Good move in my mind bringing both abck in. Odiah should start in my opinion as should Obi if he's healthy. He is the heart of the team's midfield. Surprisngly omitted from these final two games has been Almeria's Kalu Uche who has obviously fallen out of favor. I wish he was still on the team, maybe not as a starter but at least as an option off the bench.
