They should pursue full prosecution. It is wholly unacceptable. Sad.

FYI, An article from MLS' webpage on the Hermann Award finalists, it is an extensive list of players I am not familiar with but the writer points out two glaring omissions too.

I only caught one college match live this season. It was the Penn-Harvard tilt on the last day of the regular season in the Battle for the Basement for the Ivies. My nephew plays for the Crimson which, unfortunately, lost to the Quakers, 1-3.
I have also followed Hawaii-Hilo as former NMI National team coach Ziggy Korytoski is now there after a pro stint in Guatemala. His team finished extremely strong as they are upgrading the program. If Korytoski sticks around, that could develop into a real power. After all, who wouldn't enjoy four years on the Islands playing soccer? |

Well, I am enjoying the post season to no end. Our hometown Creighton team just snapped Connecticut's 38 game home win streeak to advance ot the final four! Add to that my son's old team Marquette was #5 going into the tournament and my wife's alma mater, Maryland, was also in it, so we had three teams going into the national tournament! (edit: And, both Maryland and Creighton in the final four!)Fun. -------------------- Qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum

I'm hoping to get out of work and catch the second game Friday night and hopefully the finals on Sunday.
Its nice to have something like this in my backyard. Last year seemed to be successful as I did not here too many negatives, even regarding the baseball stadium being converted. I'm sure Hoover will push to get the tournament back to the stadium as the minor league team is building a stadium in downtown Birmingham and leaving the Hoover Met (Regions Park). |

The final is set after the semi-finals today. Results below:
Indiana 1 Creighton 0 (sorry, jrb) Georgetown 4 Maryland 4 (4-3 PK). Sounds like a great match. Tremendous stat from this game I saw in the Washington Post today. It is the first result EVER for Georgetown vs Maryland in 23 tries. Til today, the Hoyas had not even managed a draw against their neighborly rival. |

Yes, the Gtown-Terps semi was one of the wildest games you will see. Some quality goals too, not all from horrific defending. G'town led early and deserved the win even though I was pulling for the Terps. Creighton did not have thier A game , for sure. But part of that was due to Indiana's defense. Wow, what a bunch fo big fast dudes! Di I say big?, I emant really big. -------------------- Qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum

And it was Indiana defeating Georgetown 1-0 in the final. The 8th national title for the Hoosiers.

Would have a lot rather seen a new team win it, but G'town was too mentally and physically frazzled from their overtime game. As one of their players put it, they "went for 110 minutes at 110 mph" (in the semi on Friday), which is how the game looked to a spectator by the way, and they simply could not come back with a top level performance in the final two days later. -------------------- Qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum

An article on the likely number 1 draft choice in MLS, assuming he signs a MLS contract, U. of Louisville defender Andrew Farrell who grew up in Peru as the son of US missionaries based there.
