Dundee, the runnersup in Scotland's 2nd tier will replace Rangers in the Premier League and will be promoted. The league decided to reward Dundee instead of keeping relegated Dunfermline in the Premier League.

The Guardian's preview of the Rangers-less Scottish Premier League. Basically it is Celtic +11 others. One of the newcomers is Ross County making their Premier League debut and giving the Highlands a 2nd club (Inverness being the other) in the top flight.
This is the time for clubs like Hearts, Aberdeen and Dundee United to try and make a leap forward to see if they can challenge Celtic. Odds are they won't but if they can not improve now that Rangers are out of the picture, when will they ever be able to do so? |

League Table
My question is...what league is this at the end of all the turmoil?? It appears to be division 3 or the fourth tier of Scottish football. -------------------- Equinus Halitosis and Hoop MLS Cups: 0

I tell you what we saw in Argentina with River Plate in the 2nd division and I think Colombia is now seeing with America de Cali relegated, is that the popular club, attracting big crowds energizes the rest of the league. Their play picks up as they try and beat "the fallen giant" and attendance rises when the big club comes into town.
I wonder if any Italian fans can comment on whether the same occurred when Napoli was playing 3rd division football in Italy or Manchester City was in England's 3rd tier? -------------------- Prefiero morir de pie que vivir arrodillado

Funny, nice to see a manager capable of having a laugh, During his press conference following his side's 4-1 Scottish Premier League victory over Hearts, one of the reporters' phones being used as a recording device began to ring.................................... After first ignoring the ring and vibration on the desk, Lennon cut short his answer to a question and took the call. 'She's not happy,' he said, as the call was hung up. Normal service was resumed but, undeterred, the women, now identified as Sharon, the wife of Michael Grant, the chief football correspondent for the Herald newspaper, called back..................................... 'Are you going to stop interrupting my press conference please,' Lennon said as he answered. 'This is Neil Lennon.' He then laughed as the call was cut again, before turning to the man whose phone it was, adding: 'You're not going out tonight, Michael. |

I'm a little surprised this hasn't come up yet, but Rangers are so far off the radar now, that perhaps I shouldn't be.

There will be a Glasgow derby next season, it just will not be Celtic-Rangers. Instead it will be Celtic-Partick Thistle as the latter won promotion to the Scottish Premier.
