My holiday and new year's best wishes to all the message board members. I am looking forward to 2013, with the African Nations Cup, World Cup qualifying, the Champions League and a potentially close title race in France's Ligue 1.

My holiday wishes to all the message board members too. As many of you know this has not been the easiest of years for me personally but thanks to everybody here this message board has been very self policing and my administrator duties have been very limited. I greatly appreciate that.

I'm thankful to you all for your contributions in making this message board so enjoyable to visit and a great place to discuss and share info about this game we all love. Whether you are a regular poster, someone who just posts occasionally or just like to read the board without posting, I thank you all. We've all helped make this a great destination for soccer/futbol/football discussion.

I do not post as often as i would like or as often as I once did but I still come on here to read the opinions expressed and I appreciate the civility and knowledge shown here. My 2013 promise is to become more involved in posting once again. All the best to everybody in 2013.

Happy New Year to everyone here! My head is slightly sore this morning but I'm already looking forward to this afternoon's Premier League matches following our New Year's Day lunch.

My new year best wishes to all here. Like Sporting notes, there never is a rest in world football, even on New year's Day we get to feed our footballing desires!

Thank you to all the posters for making this such a great environment to discuss the sport around the world.

Looking forward to a 2013 full of vibrant discussions here. Happy new year to everyone. Yesterday was I think the most universal of holidays, other holidays are related to national or religiousl events which are limited to only certain people of those nations or religions but as far as I know almost everybody the world over celebrates the new year on January 1.
