In terms of television coverage if you live in the US or Canada the games will be broadcast on ART, which is an Arabic language station available via satellite. I believe TV5 will show the knockout rounds in French. In Europe the games will be on Eurosport.

You can also order the games via PPV online, if you have a high speed connection through http://www.telesud.com or http://www.telesud.us For the last African Nations Cup in 2006, Telesud showed the games on satellite (available through Dish Network) but this year they surprisingly are only offering it via online.

Bottom line is they've made it difficult to watch the games this year and that is really disappointing. No matter where you are in the world, if you can see the games please let us know here how you are watching them and where others may be able to see the matches. Thank you.

NTA, a Nigerian television station available via satellite and on a few select cable systems, mainly in the Washington D.C., Houston and Atlanta areas also are showing the games.

Awesome. Thanks for the info SuperEagle. Not sure how I missed that thread in the first place. I'm not sure if I'll order any from telesud or not. And I live in the middle of nowhere so ART is out (even if they do shoot the hit TV series Little Mosque on the Prairie near here). I get TV5 and so I'll definitely check out the knockout round (I love any excuse to watch a game on TV5), but maybe I'll have to make do with extended highlights and the match reports on here.

cheers,
hobbes

I was asked about live streaming of matches. The best place that I have found in English is My P2P. Check it out. There are a few programs that you will need to download to view this matches with. You have SopCast, TvAnts, & PPStream to name a few. If you need more info, you can goto My P2P FAQ. Also, you can look these programs up in wikipedia as well. All you need is a windows machine (sorry mac lovers) and you should be in like Flynn . B)

Yeah I have a Mac. That's half my problem with watching on-line

cheers,

Well you can either run boot camp or parallels so you can run windows on your mac. I know it's suck, but hey MicroSoft runs the computer world. user posted image

Thanks for the info robdog.

Hobbes this site is also showing the games via broadband stream I assume based on your discussion here to windows users only, but they also have the audio of their TV broadcasts available. As a good Canadian I'm guessing you'd be able to understand it in French:

I was reading the thread here on the African Nations Cup when I saw on the bottom of the screen an ad for this which is another PPV option to watch the Nations Cup on your computer:

I am able to watch the games on my satellite dish but I am wondering robdog how is the picture quality viewing it on the internet via Sopcast?

I'm using a combination of viewing via satellite and using Telesud's internet streams. The picture quality on the stream is as good as what you get via satellite or cable TV. A friend of mine was over who has been using Sopcast and he thought the picture quality via Telesud's stream was far superior. Plus with Telesud you can rewatch games or view them on demand. They also have edited highlights if you want to view those.

For those interested in French language radio broadcasts there is Radio France International:

I won't complain. I know in my intermediate circle of friends, I was the only one the watch the matches. To be honest, I wasn't impressed with the first match, but the Nigeria vs. Cote d'Ivoire was awesome. I won't complain & wish I could watch them at work. I work at apple computers :(

The BBC World Service has a daily radio show about the African Nations Cup.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/default.stm

Click on the link for Nations Cup daily, an 8 min radio review of each days action and preview of next day's play.

I tried listening to the lc2international audio that I posted above and was getting some movie audio and not one of the games!

For those who live anywhere in the western hemisphere, TV5, a French language channel available via satellite, will carry these games from the quarterfinals on through the championship.
