History Section

Birthdate: July 16th
Family: Elias's older brother (Liam) and father (Seth) both work at the ministry. He doesn't remember his mother because she died while giving birth to him. His father was devistated by the loss of his mother and always kept busy with work. Liam looked after Elias most of the time. When Liam went to Hogwarts two years before Elias he quickly learned to take care of himself. Elias anxiously waited for the time when he could join his brother at school but when he finally got there he was sorted into Hufflepuff and was separated from Liam, who was placed in Slytherin. At first Elias attempted to spend time with Liam but Liam always seemed to be too busy with friends from his house or with his schoolwork.
General History: (1 paragraph minimum, 5 paragraph maximum) Elias grew up with his father and brother on their family estate, just outside Antrim. This may sound like they had a lot of money but that was not the case. Seth O'Grady (Elias's father) inherited the estate when he was 23, with the house and the grounds came no substantial amount of money. The O'Gradys are middle class and both Seth and Liam (Elias's older brother) work at the ministry. Elias spent all of his childhood playing games with Liam and being looked out for by him. Their house elf, Kinny, took care of their needs while their father was at work.
When Elias came to Hogwarts most of his excitement was to be reunited with his brother, but when he wasn't placed in Slytherin it didn't really bother him because he'd already become accustomed to life without Liam. Elias attempted to make friends unfortunately because of his quiet nature this proved a difficult task. When Elias does have the priviledge of interacting with others he sometimes confuses and disturbs others by speaking about his stories as if they are really happening.
Elias gets average grades in all classes, not really excelling in any area of magic. His professors maintain that if he weren't so distracted all the time he'd be doing much better.
Elias is compliant with the ministry because he has family in the ministry. It's never really occurred to him that there may be a reason to rebel.

Personality Section

General Personality:
Elias has always had a wild imagination and the years he spent without his brother only improved it, he had troubles with nightmares until he began to write stories. In Elias's stories he can sort out all of his mind's machinations an resolve any conflict or fear that might cause a nightmare. If the stories he thinks up have an end then there is no where further for his mind to take them. Elias carries a specific notebook for these stories and relies on writing for a resful nights sleep.Elias is often caught daydreaming in class or scribbling in his notebook, under his desk. Elias isn't very subtle and is often caught. Elias is friendly but very quiet and a little bit odd. He mixes his stories and the real world sometimes. He is aware of the difference between fantasy and reality, but when he talks about his stories it's not always apparent that he knows the difference. He doesn't care much about his appearance, this causes him to often wear rumpled clothes and have messy hair.

Elias is 6'4 and gangly. He looks pretty awkward but his movements are graceful. His skin is very pale, but he has a healthy flush to his cheeks and a lot of freckles, particularly around his nose. Elias wears sliver rectangular glasses that are fairly large but they fit his face well. His hair is straight but often gets messy and Elias doesn't notice.

Elias walked along the corridors of Hogwarts scribbling furiously. He had to get this down. He finished his sentence and looked up. He blinked a bit then looked around himself spinning in place. "Damn..." he muttered under his breath. He'd missed the hallway he was supposed to turn down to get to the Defense against the dark arts classroom, and he'd be late... again. Elias put his notebook into his bag and set off again determined to get to class without another mishap. Maybe today he'd actually take good notes without being distracted. Passing a painting of a beautifully colored fish he stopped for a second and imagined the fish granting the wish of a young man at sea. Little did the young man know that... No,he had to get to class. Elias turned away from the painting and shoved his hand in his pocket to keep from grabbing his notebook. He started off down the hallway again.
When Elias finally reached the classroom he sucked in a deep breath to puff out his chest the way he imagined confident people would when entering a classroom full of students already seated at their desks and taking notes. They'd probably all look at him when he walked in.Elias took his first step into the classroom and let out his breath all at once. He'd have to work on holding his breath later. Maybe he could practice underwater. Oh no, Elias's face flushed a lovely shade of red as he realized he'd been standing that the door to the classroom for at least ten seconds and he hurried to his seat; his hands already searching in his bag for a spare piece of parchment and a quill. His hand brushed against his notebook and he glanced up briefly to see if the professor was watching him, then he took out his notebook and set it in his lap. He had to get this down.
