Ok, here your going to learn to make an emoticon (small smiley faces, example.. )
By the end of this tutorial you will have something like this

Ok first open a new docutment.. 15 by 15 pixel with transparent background.
Now zoom in 800% and using the 1 pixel pencil tool do this.

Now make your foreground color yellow and fill in the smiley like this.

Now make a new yellow, set your foreground to a darker yellow, and the mode of the pencil to color burn and the opacity to 40% and make it look like this.

^^^ Very lightly around the sides.

Ok now make a new layer and make your foreground color white and set the mode of the pencil to normal and opacity to 70% and make it look like this.

Now set your foreground color to black and the pencils opacity to 100% and make a new layer to make 2 eyes and a mouth. Make it look like this (3 pixel eyes)

Now set your foreground color to white and fill in the mouth with your pencil like this.

Now go back to 100% magnification and then save it as a gif!
Thats it, your done. You should have something like this
