ATTENTION GUYS............

I was "online" starting to look thru the LOBBY POSTS, was in the process of "answering" some of them at 9:50:27PM when the "firewall system" which was installed by my son (that works for Homeland Security in their computer division) BLOCKED an "attempted hacking" into this computer. I printed out all of the "information" that cropped up on the screen (such as the "source address", "traffic description", "attacker URL", "destination address", etc.) and then "E-MAILED" it on to my son. Should be interesting......... I'll keep you posted when the FEDERAL WARRENT is "issued".............

In the meantime, be aware. And be CERTAIN that your "firewall protections" are all updated.

TO EVERYONE..........

Just got back off the phone with #2 Son......... My BIG CONCERN was whether "anything could happen" to ANYONE ELSE'S computer because of what "someone" was "attempting" to do with this computer. He ASSURED ME that there was NO WAY that anyone's computer could be "affected" simply because they were "also on the forum"....................

We will know "soon enough".

BRAVO to #2 Son.......... now has things "tracked back" thru some "forwarding thing" (whatever he called it) that's in the Neatherlands...............

Says he can "have the Feds on somebody's doorstep" by AS EARLY as "in the morning"..............

Son said that after getting "back past" some "Gallery Of Art" thing, that it was like a "big game of CONNECT-THE-DOTS" to get back to the "source"............

What REALLY SADDENS ME, is that this "tracks back" to someone that "all I've EVER done, is "try to help" this person........... And have NEVER EXPECTED ANY "REPAYMENT" for any "financial assistantance", or anything else..........

Talked with my Son, and after consideration, have left things at this: Since I have NO DESIRE to "destroy" this person's life, nor do I want to see the "hurt and misery" that his family will endure with his arrest, (and since the "attempt" happened here, I'll use "this" as the "method to relay this message"), I'll give you the "opportunity" to first, GET THINGS RIGHT WITH GOD, then, CONTACT ME BY SUNDAY EVENING with "some explaination of WHY" you choose to do this...........

If I HEAR NOTHING, then Monday Morning, my son will proceed "on his end"....... PLEASE DON'T LET "SOMETHING STUPID" RUIN YOUR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all this sucks that somebody on this board would try and do anything like that to us...

BUT.......on the other hand if there pc is infected with a virus the person from whom it came from might not have any clue what so ever that they have done it


But if they do know they have done it then bring on the strong arm of the law

I'm a tough love kinda guy. DJ, I think you're handlin' it right. If no harm has been done....then OK. Hopefully the person will learn and go on right with they're life. Otherwise... it's time for the "Village Square" !!!

Don't know if it was associated, but I just had to shut down my PC. I got a drop down security warning that I had just picked up a serious infection off the web. It was one off those that immediately wanted to scan my machine for the virus. It wasn't micro-soft, but a simliar looking clone. I had to re-boot to get rid of it. I'm going to restore my configuations to make sure. Like I said, I don't know if it's connected to this issue, but the timing is scarry ?

Well I hope you catch the guy responsible!!! Weve had our comp hacked before, and let me tell you how messed up our stuff was! Just cant believe its someone in this forum..

First I would like to say, DJ sorry about what happened to you.......But it is a possibilitiy it could have be a virus going through anyone on the forum. There has been a scan run on the forum today and a bug detected which HAS BEEN REMOVED. I guess we got a little behind on the scanning. There is normally a scan run on the forum at least once a week. Anyone who travels the net can pick up bugs that may drop off as they see fit.
My advise is to keep your Anti-virus and Firewalls up to date. As for it being someone here on the forum, I don`t think so but I could be wrong. I just hope not.
No one knows what headaches a forum is. It will not take care of it`s self. I spend way to much time checking things out than I should. If it comes down to it , I`ll just shut it off. There are to many good people on here to let something like this come between them.
This forum has come a long ways on the policy of being Open, Honest and a good clean family friendly place to hang out. I don`t want to see that destroyed. I would hate to know that maybe my mistake of my not doing the bug scan could tear it apart.
I feel that any member on here would welcome their Hard drive being checked. Just blow the dust out of mine if you do.
I would Hate to but the only other alternative would be to Shut the doors on the Lobby if this can`t be resolved.

It's EXACTLY what we were talking about when YOU & I were on the phone yesterday.

It's also EXACTLY what I had said about "NOT WANTING TO DESTROY" somebody's life. They still have "some odd hours" to contact me, and "make things right", or, come tomorrow morning, I have a son who IS going to "take care of it" by "placing this whole thing in the right hands". I have left the "choice" of the person's "outcome" IN THEIR HANDS, THEY CAN EITHER "do what's right", or, BY THEIR CHOICE, "pay the concequences".

It poses NO THREAT to ANYONE ELSE on this forum ( THIS WAS DIRECTED S-O-L-E-L-Y--&--- TOTALLY AT O--U--R COMPUTER, IT WAS NOT, AND I REPEAT, W-A-S N-O-T A "RANDOM ACT"). IT WAS NOT A "BUG" IN THE FORUM SYSTEM!!!!!

There is NO REFLECTION TOWARDS RON, with EVERY SINGLE SAFEGUARD IN THE WORLD BEING "UP TO DATE & IN PLACE", it CANNOT stop someone who has their mind set on "attempting" something illegal. I mean, LET'S BE REAL........ they have "outlawed" ALL SORTS OF THINGS by virtue of the "Laws Of Our Land", and that HAS NOT ELIMINATED CRIMES!!!!!!!!

RON has "PROVIDED US" with a FANTASTIC PLACE for a group of friends (who are "more like family") to get together and enjoy a common LOVE for building models, and the FRIENDSHIP & SHARING of one another. RON has "PROVIDED US" with every "safeguard" that is "within reason", and DOES A FANTASTIC JOB of "keeping up with things"..........

The forum (as RON has "stated before", has "come A LONG WAY"). I have NO QUESTION IN MY MIND that it CAN, & WILL CONTINUE to "GROW AND PROGRESS" with time.
